Ideal trading setup / No of screens

#1
Hi ,

New to trading and hence looking for some info from the members. What should be the ideal trading setup in terms of softwares and number of screens. What do the existing full time traders do for their set up

What should be the number of screens -3-4 ?
Setup of screens - Which order , Trading software , Technicals , Internet
Screen setting - Cockpit view (3 or 4 in line) or One above other with two screens next to each other.
How many screens for technicals and quotes ?

Looking for suggestions

Hi,

It's human nature that what he gets, he try more. Asimple MA sys is enough to trade in market but more complex sys u show more people run behind it. I have came across lots of time that a thread ran 100s of pages for a complex afl and finally it was gr8 everyone was happy, but I found that macd was giving same buy/sell, ofcourse 1-2 bar delay or before.

If u want to satisfy ur need, go ahead n use 5-6 but if u want to trade n win make ur sys from which u feel comfortable n do trading forget everything. One more advice don't watch idiot box. Even need to watch watch in "mute" mode ;)

i think this is a valid question...
i think 2 is quite necessary,specially if u r a intraday trader
....i will upgrade to 2 ...once i make some money ...

it depends on ur trading style

If you try trading for a living... Two screens are the bare minimum... one for charts and all... other one for orders... two internet connections... back up for power supply... at least two brokers... two data feeds... i.e. backup for everything required for trading... :) paper, pen, pencil, eraser, printer, phone/mobile, record books and others are also absolutely necessary... :D

Food..... you forgot food :) Snacks, samosas... the hotter, the better. 2 wives, one for profitable days, one for loss making days :) 1 Girlfriend, ...... for winning streaks :)

Most important of all, a very rich father in law, having net banking facility :)

i am thinking of going with three - four screens , may be thats because i have seen quite a few of them using that live in India / abroad. Btw a suggestion there are plenty of videos on youtube may be that should help few others in changing their view.
btw this is my dream set up , which i aim to get in someday - 6 screen , dual 3 screen cockpit view including terminal charts internet access and idiot box ;)
