BHEL share price not reduced to half even after share split?

#1
Hi,

I am new to trading and interested in BHEL and have a query based on the recent share split..

BHEL share price haven't been reduced to half even after the share split of 1:2. When the share split was announced, the price was ~2100, but now the price is ~1940 rather than around ~1050, could anyone help with this one?

thanks

The Stock is yet to be split...

You will get 5 shares of bhel for every one share you hold provided you have bought those shares before ex-record date (a day before the record date is ex record date) of split.
Just look for bhel at the bse website. You will get to know the record date when it is announced.
Or
in Bhels case before the day the price falls close to 1/5th of the previous days close.
Bhel had just announced that they will be splitting the shares. They need to get approval from the authorities and the shareholders and then they will announce a record date. They entire process can take 1-3 months, depending on how they get shareholder approval ie by postal vote or at the AGM. Bhel usually holds its AGM in September. Hope this helps in some way.

Thank you umeshmandal for the information.

Just two quick ones.

1. It seems BHEL had share split in 2007 but I couldn't get enough information about it. "Could you give me in which month they declared share split and when was it split actually" so that I can look around that period how the price varied and learn abt other things.

If I am wrong above and if BHEL had share split anytime other than 2007, plz give the above requested info regarding that.

2. Hows your opinion, is BHEL good to buy before share split or after?

Thank you for your time
