PPF money transfer

I have a PPF account in SBI.
I want to transfer money from my ICICI bank account (in another city)to the SBI PPF account electronically.
Is there any way out?

my tayaji had ppf account for last 27 years from post office .he is now no more so we want to close that account . we are amaze that officers want bribe its too much that he demand . for 27 years continues maintain this account the
interest and compound interest is so much. so there greed is tooo big . his death is in feb till mater is disputed . in short i wanna people please don't open account with post office . most of them gave bribe. open account with banks who offer online. search who is more transparent i prefer bank of baroda .

First place, PPF account runs for 15 years, and then extensible by 5 year blocks. So I assume that your tayaji has extended it 3 times.

If you have,

1. death certificate,
2.Legal heirship certificate
3. Succession certificate
4. Family membership certificate

and all the hiers mentioned in the documents apply jointly, there is nothing in the act that, to necessitate a bribe to the postal dept.

I also need to know if I can get the passbook in nay branch of SBI or only the branch where I have opened the account. As of now I do not have a passbook.

I have no personal experience in this. I hear that SBI has centralised PPF account, so it must not be a problem for them to update the passbook from any branch

PPF a/c is local to the branch where you open your a/c. So only the branch can issue the passbook. If you want you can get your a/c transfer to the branch from where you want to get the passbook.
