OK , do not think about any logic like margin or risk reward ratio or rollovers .

Here is the scenario , what if I shorted one lot of nifty at 5300 with Rs 35,000 in my Ledger and went to Himalayas , my target being 4950 , and my broker will keep my position open till 6000 nifty.
so about profit of 350 points and loss of 700 points.
which is more likely to hit first ?
Target or Stop-loss ?

Did your doctor tell you to create some position before going to Himalayas ? If you can not follow your trade what is the need for doing speculation ? Why not just invest & go to Himalayas. I hope you know the difference between investing & trading. Nifty will go where it has to go . It neither follows any polls nor majority opinion.

Cheers !!!!

Sir,
this was just an experimental paper trade and voting was created to once again show that market do the most unthinkable things , we as a trader have to be ready for every eventuality.

Not many members participated but truth remains that not many would have given nifty futures the chance of 6000 at the time of the poll.

we have had international analyst on CNBC talking about Head & shoulder pattern being formed at nifty 5400.

we have many professionals with short position and though they were smart enough to get out with stop loss

I know retailers who have nifty short positions from 5200 without any stop loss thinking that market would test 4950.

Once again market reinforces the belief that market has a mind of its own.

thanks to all members who participated.
