Can I buy on Previous day close?

#1
When I started investing, I didn't know that previous day close & day's open may be different. Now I do know that but I need to conform something.
I will take the example of RComm, it opened at 197.5 today (correct me if I am wrong) & its previous day (friday) close was 192.5
So, if I place an order through a software for 100 shares of Rcomm for Rs 192.5 before the market opens, will I still get the order executed?
I am assuming that it doesn't matter what the previous close was & I shouldn't get the order as today's open was not the same as preevious close. But I just wanted to conform this.

Even if you place orders TODAY (After hour trading),the orders will be
executed TOMORROW.If market opens substantially higher tomorrow then
the orders based on today close may not be executed.

and fastest way to resolve such questions.. is to pick up right book and get complete picture of stock market trading. By asking question by question, you are just going to get reply in bits and pieces..and will still be confused cause you will not be able to put those pieces togather then solve the jigsaw.

To answer the main question - can u buy at 192.5 ?

Your order get executed during mkt hours, so if someone is ready to sell at 192.5 tomorrow then answer is YES.
But due to market action of tomorrow, quite possible that there are new buyers ready to buy higher price then 192.5, then your order will hang there waiting for someone to come and sell at 192.5 and finally at the end of the day, it will be cancelled by system.

Please read about order processing to get complete picture. Best info that u can find is at NSE site. Check out their study material of various certifications.. or dig into the site.
