Is Quarterly reports really a trigger for share prices??

Cause I seen some stock price is reducing even though it performed good. Eg)Hero honda -even though the profit is 49% high the price movement is down trend

not only hero honda.Every stock I watched the quarterly reports doesn't seem to trigger the price

Why that so??What is the Logic behind this.please shed some light.Thanx

Quarterly results may be one aspects for the scrip movement. Hero hond was in down trend because from my view point, Many people buy vehicles for saving taxes in the financial year end, but that may not be the in the next quarter. But Infosys went high form 2600+ to 2800 the day of its 4th quarter results.

Quarterly results surely plays a role depending on the scrips. We should keep atleast 5-10% +/-.

Best of Luck

Sometimes in anticipation of a good quarterly result, ppl start buying the stock 1 - 2 weeks ahead of the result. On the result day these people want to book some profit so they sell the stock bcoz of which the price falls.
