I have just put the request to open a account, but nobody has visited me so far

they call me after third sms.

latest development is, it requires a Savings bank account with SBI. I have contacted some nearby branch, and the regular person doing it is on leave, the stand by person has informed me to bring a copy of PAN card, address proof along with 2 photographs

yes you need to open account. I was having SBI account with internet banking activated ( for internet banking you may need to write application, after activation you will have to request at your branch for transaction right )

You need a savings bank account with internet banking activated.Then, fill in 2 forms-one for demat and other for trading a/c.Then within 10-15 days time trading account will be activated.Demat will take less time and will be active within 1week of application submission.
