No. of shares

#1
Hi,

I hold an icicidirect account, I would like to learn about the minimum no. of shares I can purchase.
For example I would like to purchase shares of xyz company what would be the minimum no. of shares or mandatory no. of shares I will have to purchase

There is no such min. qty restriction in shares. If you wish, you can buy only 1 share too.

Such restriction in only in derivatives, but it does not affect you.

As I already have an 3 in one account with icicidirect I would like to learn more about the difference between the same and other accounts before I start trading.

Where do I find about the charges which will be applicable for trading in icicidirect and other accounts ?

Good morning Hema,

Well, you can call to customer care and ask about your brokerage charges. Or you can ask your Relation Ship Manager.

By the way as i know Brokerage charges are very high in ICICI which is 7 - 70 paise. i must suggest you, do not trade with ICICIDirect account..hidden charges also there....

go for angel brokin, sharekhan, they hv low brokerages plus gud customer service , dont hav much issues of frequent server disconnections as in few others.

I hav accnt with HDFC securities n am not asociated with any brokerage firm.

HDFC is safe n secure but most expensive .

icici direct levies a minimum brokerage (rs 25). also, they have a restriction that you should buy shares worth atleast rs 500. or so it was one year ago when i naively opened an account with them and tried to buy 1 share :p
