A general knowledge question please.

What is the criterion of ckt brkr.

For a few stocks to day the ckt breaker is applied at an increase of 5 percent.

Whereas the highest gainer today has gained 15% but has not hit the ckt breaker>

Why is it so??

Does it depend on Category of shares ( A,B etc )??

Hello,

Yes it depends upon Category of shares. Also it is for index for example nifty's ckt breaker is 10 & 20 % means if nifty hits 10 % up or down market will stop for an hour. After opening market after an hour if it hits 10 % more again then market will close for that day.

Happy Trading...

yes it depends on category of stocks , bigger shares like Abanoffsh can even increase more than 20% as it did in the last week, while T category and other have 4.99% circuit in a day.
