Anybody aware of any chatting room like ya hoo had where traders can chat and exchange views more directly.

I have been in this TJ forum for about a month now and i find it to be very informative. I doubt anybody can debate the usefulness of this forum but I feel during market hours a live discussion would be more beneficial for all concerned.

I am sure there are plenty like me who find solace in knowing that others too are trapped in similar positions. it helps to know that other too go through the same emotional ride like me. there are plenty of knowledgeable persons who are willing to guide others during market hours. i mean, whats the point of learning how i could have avoided a mistake after committing the mistake. before taking that decision, if i could just confirm it with someone, then at least i can stop the rot before it got worse.

I am not talking about people who give calls. those get very irritating as they just have a good afl (code) and base their calls on running a scan on their TA software.

I am talking of those people who analyze the market real time. their opinion helps. if u hunt in a pack, chances of success increases.

My view may sound VERY pessimistic

I dunno, but we had tried this years ago ...
AIII group on Yahoo, now on Googlegroups founded by Rajeev Mundra.

The problem is what - u know - if the ppl who know thie biz i.e the ppl u r looking for will be trading the moves and will not have the time to chat at that very moment. The chat will be after the moment and by that time many are trapped and will remain so.
Also in this - as you said - many tipseter i.e. seekers and givers, will start sharing their views making it very irritating. They will fight over non-issues and ultimately the group/chat room will be fully infected by these bacteria ...

Moderators will start blocking them but they will start rejoining with newer IDs. This tussle will be long and ultimately the chat room will be cleansed of these germs.

This reproductive cycle will begin again like a sequel to a hollywood movie ... Good Guy bashing Bad Guys ....

I've seen it happen many a times ...

:)

i agree with u on this... those who want to learn the game gets affected with those who want to preach and boast of their little knowledge and start giving calls and start predicting levels.

A few like me, who are searching for ways to learn to trade better get affected. If, in a yahoo chat room... we make the room private and allow people to join by invitation only...then that will solve the purpose...

its true that those who have developed their trading system and are happy with their trades wont like to spend trading time chatting with novices. They wont help out.... but a few like us, who are still at the bottom of their learning curve can share knowledge and help each other grow....

all i need is to learn 1 new thing every day... and i am willing to take a lot of trouble to gain that....

its worth trying at least....

very true!! u cannot chat online about live markets or for intraday.. by the time u have put in ur views the market has moved on and ur views would change. and also any public forum or chat room has a chance of becoming an arena for ppl to try and sell their own products or ideas to others and it becomes difficult to differentiate thegenuine traders from the crowd.
