Dear Brutus,

Thank you and congratulations for getting the IRC FAQ/TR thread deleted.

Yes, of course I know you and your breed. You were there all along, by my side, cheering loudly when I was burning the midnight oil setting up the IRC channel and then the TR chat-room. You had the same beliefs as me and a lot of my (do you now call them eccentric?) friends. You admitted that the Java based chat room here was pathetic and it was time to get on to something better. And yes, once they were up, you were among the first to make good use of it. What went wrong? You are no longer able to keep your mask on? Are you so afraid of being stripped to your elements? Do you realize your vilification campaign/personal vendetta hasn't helped your self either? Don't bother to post a riposte -- it's unnecessary. I understand. Your envy, frustration and impotence -- all of it. Though I'll never probably be able to empathize, you can have all my pity. Now, will the real Brutus please stand up?

Statutory Disclaimer:

I am not a trader by profession. A newbie to trading -- that's it. Nor do I have a website or a service that I hawk over at any IRC channel or the TR chat room. I created these based on requests and took my personal time out to keep these running.And trust me, it's far more difficult to create channels or write FAQs than copy-pasting research paper titles and quote books you haven't even read. Over time, I had begun to believe that people actually benefited out of these. I do not understand why that particular thread was deleted and I demand an explanation. (There are at least two mods of Traderji who frequent that room and they can testify.) I waited long enough to post this so that even Google's cache removes these threads. I don't want to help anymore.

Update: I am back after a brief hiatus, and I feel cheered by seeing my reps increased from 56 to 17. Thanks -- I love ye all!

skarp, i dont think your post has been deleted by the mods, rather, if i am not wrong, by the adminstrators. here at traderji we already has a chat facility, and its very normal for traderji to give preference to the in-house chat facility and expect fellow boarders to use that only. after all it costs him to run the chat applets. had i run the site i would had done the same. if i am not wrong you too would have done same if you ran the site.

as the end user of the chat facility we (you, i and some mods too) found java chatrooms a bit cumbersome and looked for alternatives. thanks to your good job we had the irc and still better the TR chat room. keep up the good job.

sometimes back traderji talked about closing the chatroom here at traderji as the same is not used to its optimum and it will also save him some $$$. but on our request he desisted from doing so. i would also like to take this oppurtinity and request traderji to replace the present java applet with a room at TR (a stratigic tie up or so) as TR has some obvious advantages. hope the cost differences do not pose a serious deterrent.

hope you got my point. cheers....

Whenever Jesse had opened a Chat facility,i have always frequented there with a hope to Learn,this time also i went to the IRC channel initialy,at the begining.
Here in Traderji there is a culture,prior to the system of Moderators.
We never publicly disrepute or disobey the Seniors from whom we have learnt something in past/present.(Though now that culture is in threat.)
Jesse is one of that elite Senior (associated with your endeveour) ,we may disagree but for that the pm route can be used.

I can emphatise with your Feeling.Narration of the 'Brutus episode' brings out that feeling.

However you cant ask the Moderator to stand up.

jdm, uasish, and to whom it may concern in general,

The very act of deletion does not bother me, what bothers me is who/what led to this. Of course, as I had hoped, you all missed the point of the post and taken it as slander against the mod/admin (who actually pressed the big fat 'delete' button). If there was a problem with that thread, then I should have been informed. I wouldn't have had issues discussing stuff in a civil way.

@jdm:
People keep referring to elitetrader and T2W boards. How isn't that a cannibalization? If you say, but hey, they don't discuss Nifty, I'd say that's a poor choice of logic.

@uasish:
Most of your post beats me. The 'stand up' is a way of writing -- allegorical, you may call it. I am not really expecting anyone to drop by and say, "Oh, I am so sorry, I just deleted your post."

as long that reference benefits the forum member its ok. but if that reference tantamounts to advertisement then the mods/admin has every right to delete the post. but yes, one can always argue about the thin line that differentiate the two.

look metastock amibroker fcharts are all commercial products. yet we have separate sections for those software. what do u say about that. double standard? traderji promoting those softwares? look at the threads in those section and you will know what i mean, and why we have the sections.

Free? Someone's minting money because you, I and a lot of other people actually visit this forum. Look around -- all those ads, you'd know better.

Are you stating the obvious? Or, are you suggesting I was advertising?

well most of the ads here are google adsense ads which dont even add up to feed the chickens, leave alone the bandwith charges, maintainance charges and what not.

Are you stating the obvious? Or, are you suggesting I was advertising?
no dear, my heart, mind is with you. TR is definately a better product and deserve to discussed. but saying that the rivals product is better does no good for this site.

What are you trying to prove?
i am just trying to look things from other ppls shoes. thats set. nothing else to prove.

Allegory :

1. a representation of an abstract or spiritual meaning through concrete or material forms; figurative treatment of one subject under the guise of another.
