Default Need for Forum for Advanced techniques

Friends

Sharing a few toughts....

It is three years since i joined the forum. This forum has helped me a lot in learninng and improving my TA techniques and Trading.

Though there have been changes in the forum like addition of newer forum and sub forums , Moderators etc....there has not been much change in the otherwise. Of course it is the best forum for learnes and beginners..but it has remained one ... for the last three years..

The same sort repested questions... What is ADX ... how do I use MACD....
There is a wealth of information available. But nobody bothers to search it.
I personally have answered similar questions again and again...

Is there stagnation? Should this remain a forum for begineers ? Is it the reason for many learned members leaving/Inactive in the forum and go to other forums like Traders laboratory to learn newer things.?

Should we need additional forum for discussing advance techniques?
Maybe CV's idea of private forum would solve this...maybe...

Do share your thoughts...

Regards

Karthik

I am not in favour of having a private forum, it will create a disconnect between average members and elite few. Some people who learn just by observing something might miss quite a few things. A private forum will eventually become a club of closely knit person which will kill the entire gist of this forum

What is required reorganizing the wealth of the information outside this forum something like wiki style, which new members can refer to. Nevertheless this task itself is quite taxing..

At the risk of sounding absurd I may say that there is nothing like 'advanced techniques' when it comes to trading... and private groups will only widen the gap. Elite Trader is a very good example... there are plenty of Hedge Fund Managers like maestro willing to share and discuss with everyone.

I have already started a new thread for discussion of research papers in technical analysis. For discussing better stuff all we need is attention of intelligent members, rather than pity on n00bs.

I request to Traderji that there should be a new sub-forum titled "For Professionals". Members can request the administrator important threads that need to be placed there.

1) I think forum needs few sticky threads with frequently ask questions answered by experts.
2) Strict moderation.

Just my 2 cents.

Its not about the elite few but a give and take discussion between those who are interested about a particular topic. After all this is a trading forum and there is no concept of 'something for nothing' in a traders dictionary.

Where have you been living sir? You think Simmons and co. use tape reading and ADX? And ofcourse there will be gaps, afterall if one just expects to get spoonfed 'techniques' without any personal effort the gap is well deserved.

About ET, Maestro has discussed his techniques purely on a philosophical level and it was done mostly for advertising a platform that he was marketing at the time.

I will quote Rearden Metal at ET to show how traders are really like -'The easiest way to abruptly end a conversation with me, is to ask anything about my methods.'

Sarr!

Wherever I am living, when did I gave the slightest clue that Simmons uses adx or tape reading . I was pointing to some people who think they are 'advanced' if they have just got 500 line code, ov tga-vsa stuff. Now not targeting ne1, plz dont take offence.

On ET, Maestro, futurestrader71,NYBOScaler,arcary.... have been pretty much more revealing than your one-liners.

I understand that there may be a motivation to attract more eyeballs (and no of members) to this forum, which is perfectly fine. But there has to be quality too, else quantity will be meaningless. I am tired of seeing queries like I have 3 lots options on XYZ, what should I do and some ridiculous answers getting 5 stars rating. That's why I avoid the forum these days, except for my "elite" list of members when they post. It is upto the mods who want to use the virtuous cycle of best attracts best or the vicious cycle of GIGO.

Private forums are very good idea, and if others are crying hoarse that they cannot get in, buddy prove your mettle with good posts/discussions and you will be in. You cant go and join DE Shaw tomorrow, or Intel's chip designing, so why cry about not being able to join a private forum of pros from day one?

Or what do you think? Saint became SAINT by paying traderji? creditviolet became the CV by posting porn here?
