Well Karthik, who ever takes up the responsibility is going to have one hell of a task to do and one big dissatisfied crowd to confront!

If traders learned to trade as pilots learn to fly, there will be dead bodies all over the place.

That was an analogy. Ok an eg. from forum: A couple of years back what Saint started it in "Teach a man..." thread, is still advanced stuff for most members...(includes 1000+ posts members as well). Those were days when ppl had no clue what customized indicators or system trading is. Now that may be just basic stuff for you.

Look, trading isnt a consensus or team sport. It doesnt matter what the majority of members do or are interested in. What works, works regardless of people's likes or dislikes and if they are not interested in or find it hard to follow has no bearing on the reality of the 'situation'.

Forums may seem useful at first but after some time they just become a place to hang-out (trading is after all a lonely profession).

I don't think a private enclave of some kind would create much of a difference (though it can reduce the degree of irritation considerably - make reading more pleasurable). One may get a few more pointers from a CV or an Oxy, nothing more.

Only a few things work (on a consistent basis) & that too seldom in the 'raw' form. One has to work & rework the 'raw material' to find the best ways of capturing the useful information & then translating them into trading rules. If one does arrive at something consistently useful it's very very difficult to let out. (Except perhaps in situations where a F-18 & a Sukhoi pilot share a few flight techniques with each other)

Regards

" or "visit my Blog for making millions ...". These post are really annoying in the midst of serious discussions.

I personally do not agree with the "Elite Group" stuff. Everybody want growth. They want to keep on improving. If there no growth they would rather migrate to other forums. Then there would not be any so called Elite group and none to teach the newbie. Then this would remain a forum of begineers, sellers of wares, tip mongers and blog promoters. Last three years I have seen many good people ready to impart knowledge and one fine day there decide enough is enough and left or became inactive. I would not blame them for doing it as it was their growth that was at stake.

And I dont think if we have restricted forums people like Saint, Asishda and Sanjay would stop imparting knowledge....

Precisely the point, but dont know why you are against selected few (call it elite group or anything) forums. The whole exercise is to keep the scums out. What others are not understanding is that if it was to share some great secret between some people only, why would they be waiting for it on traderji, a y ahoo chat would be enough. it is only to let deserving people enter, contribute and share and not pollute some threads. And deserving people will keep on increasing, based on the quality of their posts. its not that the forum will be restricted to 5 people only.
KK, there will be one section who will always oppose it, for they will think that some lollies that were supposed to fall on their laps wont be there. So you have to deal with them anyway.
Anyways as you said it is not that a few members will post only in the "secret" forums, they will post everywhere.

Let there be a advanced category . Let it be for selected members , they can read and write (post) . But for others let it be READ ONLY .Every one should be able to see .
If you find a new person worth , give him the right to post along with read . So this way every can gain info ,only few can post in there, and nobody will complain of not having to see what the selected members discuss .
