100% true. I dont see the share to go anywhere upwards till that. I had got 16 shares from ipo and i am pretty sure its going to take a very long time for the red to become a green. the only good thing about rpower are its promoters. so i am expecting it to grow faster than ntpc.

The promoters! The investors have lost almost 50% even after taking bonus into account. The promoters, even at today's evaluation, have their shares appreciated by 1500% - Yes, 15 times, or one thousand five hundred percent.
And, yours, -50%. They only have looted.

Growth, you mean negative growth in prices! Then you are right, it is falling faster than NTPC, and, is below NTPC! NTPC atleast has about 28000 MW of installed capacity. RPOWER has only money for just 2000MW, about 7% of NTPC's installed capacity.

hi all the calculations and projections may come right or wrong only time will tell. Well one thing is sure the Ambanis have delivered in the past their integrity and patriotism is unquestionable. It was dhirubhais ambition to see india a superpower.Without a vision a strong and commitment one no one can build such a vast business empire.Well risking capital for lay investors, if they had not invested in reliance they wouldhave anyway lost all the money in plantation companies and other 3rd class investments. Ask those who invested in reliance post harshad mehta scam for about Rs 50 a share. they are still smiling at the daily quotes.

Why R power @430 is still not a bad deal
Some Facts About Reliance Power:

Reliance Power will be entering into other Energy Forms like Nuclear Power and other Renewable resources.
We all know where the Nuke deal is heading.Things can happen very fast on that counter.
Dont be shocked if you hear some news out of the blue.

Coal based assets

Like in 2002 when Reliance bought Flag for a few millions and now it has become an enormous asset worth 12 b $..Rpower has been making Coal aquisitions.
Also Rpower has plans of starting a shipping subsidiary.

Coal as a resource will assume tremendous importance in future,.
Reasons:Crude will sustain above 110~120$ per barrel.

Ambani's are on the drive for Coal to oil plants and are kind of the earliest in this time frame.(7b$)
Rpower will gain significantly due to higher valuations of the Coal assets that it has presently.(Target 12-16 Months)

Global Ambition

Also R power is also scouting for Power Plants in Africa and other emerging markets.

Once the MTN deal is pulled off, anyone can guess that the charismatic Ambani will win deals left right and centre for his other ventures in the resource rich Continent.

One thing we cannot forget. The company is owned by Anil Ambani.
To pass time joking around is another thing..but to doubt Anil Bhai's capabilities is foolishness.

Im posting this because..all the people who are disgruntled were people who lost out due to greed on the crash day..and theres a lot of silly talk going on about this firm

YES THIS IS A BEAR MARKET.
You sell and buy later when its cheaper.
It is true there might be even more sell off's.

But the fact remains, that it could be a very exciting long term hold.
Something that can give u 20 times in 7 years.

I forgot to add this.

""Reliance Power which was awarded the Sasan ultra mega power project has advanced the date of commissioning of the UMPP by three years while Tata Power has advances dates for commissioning of Mundra UMPP by 17 months. This has been done on insistence of Centre which is struggling to achieve the targeted capacity addition of 78,500 mega watt in the 11th plan.

Reliance Power is also planning to bid for PowerSeraya and Senoko Power, which account for more than 60 per cent of the power produced in Singapore. GMR Infrastructure is also in the fray, reports Business Standard.""

For people who are asking about Cash Flows...this is the answer.
The name is Ambani.
