Calculating Monthly Profits
Hi Members,
I have recently started investing in stock market, I keep adding amounts on a monthly basis, most of my holding are for long time and I do sellout stocks sometimes, I want your help to tell about how to calculate growth % of my portfolio, I use excel, I would like to know what would be the right way to calculate, here is a sample I am using let me know how I can improve on this, this calculation I am doing it on last day of the month Below are columns I use in my sheet with explanation [A] - Period - Month and Year (Last day of Month) [b] - Investments - Amounts moved to trading account [C] - Value of Stocks - Value of all stocks as of last working day [D] - Cash Bal - Cash balance in trading account as of last working day [E] - [C] + [D] [F] - Cumulative Investments till date ( Cum. for last month + [b] ) [G] - Profit curr. month [E] - [F] - Last Month Profit Please give your valuable comments, Thanks, Sri
