I believe this will continue for more days....best strategy right now is to stay in cash and not to get pulled by 600-700+ points. However small "Some cash(profit) in hand is worth mirage profits in the bush....lots of minefields are there in the coming days so try to be in cash as much as possible.

I second Asish..
This kinda market is just too amazing. The rule is simple. Just follow the trend. Look at the chart and go short /long. This easily said than done. The important point is don't stick to a trade if it goes against you. Act quickly to cover your position and take new position with the market. Am not experienced but can imagine how much experienced people make in a volatile market. |

Sure if you dont mind loosing the money if it so happens...
but for most investors/small time traders the advise would be to stay out. only dare devil traders with good reliable connectivity to the exchange(yes icicidirect you sucked today when markets fell so *avoid icicidirect for sure*) should go in. only go in if you dont mind loosing your bet. |

From whatever i have heard, on days like these there are more problems than just tring to catch the trend. Problems like brokers freezing, limiting the exposure inspite of margin available, problems with brokers network and related infrastructure, even extra load at exchanges servers so rates not refreshing etc.. Huge gaps without trades, SLs jumping and not getting filled, etc.. May be these r just excuses from losers, anyway what do i know, just a noob who is trying to learn. Waiting to hear from real traders who did play, and know how to profit from days like today. Thanks nb |

Take the extreme leverage of ur account, trade in two counters, which are liquid most, like Satyam, trade both the sides, scalping, and count the bucks after the days end. |

Well, 2 things
1. Can u mark the buy/sell on ID nifty charts, that you would have taken 2day, with reasons if possible. These are the trades I marked during the market, trying to use lessons tought by SAINT. Chart01, Chart02, Blue vertical line is buy, Red sell 2. Although the trades I logged showed excellent results, speaking to others I was made aware of other issues mentioned in above post. Have you ever experianced those issues/problems e.g brokers margin problems, system freeze, not being able to close trade because of price action like yesterday/today. The problem is lots of ppl keep cribbing about these things, but when try to get detailed info, the standard response is something like "dheere dhree sab seekh jaoge" (eventually you will know) Thanks nb Last edited by newbee : 18th October 2007 at 09:38 PM.
