Investment with tax free returns

Please throw some light on investment that are having taxfree returns.
I would like to know the investment options available in India, where we can invest and the interest/profit earned out of that investment should also have tax exemptions. Hope this is clear. Please share your suggestions. Thanks

time horizon 1-2 years and I want to have the returns/profits/earnings out of investment as completely tax exempted. Please let me know the investment options available.

80C investments are not short term investments (1-2 years)
For detail, google 80C investment or any income tax related website will provide you all details.
For 1-2 years investments, AFAIK, there are not much choice, only equity related MF (dividend/capital gain), dividends, LTCG are the options for tax free income.

For the text in bold, any Mutual Fund marked "Dividend" will give you returns that are tax-free. (Ofc they're pre-taxed but for the recipient its tax-free)

Other similar instrument is Liquid Bees etc also which are ETF with dividend.

As far as principal of investment is concerned, EQ Funds will be tax-free for a period of 1yr+ and Debt Funds for 3yrs+.
No limit on the principal itself unlike 80C etc even though that's not Short-term.

OK..But what about risk appetite...

High risk...Medium risk or low risk
