My stop loss orders are all getting rejected if i place a random trigger and limit price which is quite different than the current price of the stock (lets say 15% difference).

What is the acceptable price range for the trigger and limit price ?

In below example if i put the trigger price as 15 and limit as 17, it gets rejected (though it is a buy order). However 38 as trigger and 39 as stoploss works !!

Also should this range (whetever is acceptable) be within the current NSE value or current bid/ask price?

When you post such queries, also share info like your broker and trading software.
Whether you have tried it with 1 broker or more etc and what exactly you intend to achieve.

I tried with Angle web based software - trade.anglebroking.com
I tried with only 1 broker.

As Ravibhai mentioned, just check the upper and lower price bands, you might be placing it outside that.
These values will be a %, so some stocks hit circuit at 10%, and therefore 17 from 15 falls into that.
