I am using 3 E-Wallets , Paytm , Freecharge & MobiKwik & 1 App from HDFC bank. All are smooth in transferring money.

Made few purchases through PayTm in last 7 days. But those purchases were limited to big retail stores only. Asked few small establishments about E-wallet readiness, the response was of very - very lukewarm nature. Shopkeepers in the lanes & by-lanes seem to be still feeling cold about this smart phone thingy.

Oh it will catch on, as one of the payment methods, if not the only one. Will take time though.

TP it's time for you to buy a smartphone now.. :D if not for calling, at least for bank transactions.
I use netbanking actively, and paytm through my laptop. Use debit card extensively. Heck, since last 4 years I have been paying my landlord through NEFT :). I bet he is thanking me for it now :D

Just opposite situation here. My landlord refused to give NEFT details. He is retired DSP .. :D

Don't know how much black money he is hiding, but he told honestly that he does not pay taxes on rent collected. He is ready to accept our rent even after 10 days but he wants cash only.

Now we have milkman, Gas and Rent who wants cash, rest all expenses is already being done electronically.

Read somewhere very recently that if PM is in such a hurry to make India a Cashless or rather Less Cash country he should switch his Mann KI Baat from the age old Radio to the latest Internet from now on .. :D
Who knows in 2019 election he may promise Smartphones with Jio sim as freebies . :D

Then truly this UPI etc will become relevant. Until then only Metro and tier 1 cities can become somewhat cashless.
I have read somewhere that in Bangalore, vegetable vendors are also using paytm. They have moved to cashless in a big way. :clapping:

Metro cities and few A+ cities are ready for acting as the pilot locations for introducing the less cash idea but the B & C category cities have to go long way on this path.

Yesterday I was reading the interview of Mobikwik founder Upasana Taku, who very rightly pointed out that India has still to catch up a lot on the infrastructure front. Electronic transactions will increase with passing time but it is still a long road when we talk in terms of pan India basis.
