Transfer Share

#1
Hello All,

First time posting here. so please ignore me if there is anything wrong with my post.

I am having few share from last 6 years.
I am planning to transfer these share to my mother name.
I have following question:
1) How easy it to do that(HDFCSec to ShareKhan)?
2) Can sharekhan people handle that or approval from HDFCSec as well?
3) Since I am holding these share from 6 year, and If i seel them after 6 month, do my mother need to pay tax on this?
4) Not related to this: Can I ask my share broker to give me all details of transaction which I did? Do they give details in free or do they charge?

Appreciate for your help in advance..

Welcome to the forum chatanya agrawal ji. :)

I am providing the answers to the best of my knowledge, but I would suggest you wait for more replies from experienced members here, because I am basically an intraday trader and do not do such kind of share holding work, so my answers might not be correct.

1. It is very easy. You need to get the share transfer slips "which would be provided by the current broker HDFCSec" and fill all the details like, shares of which company, how many shares and the account to which these needs to be transferred etc. "This used to be the normal process till a few years back, I am not aware if such share transfers could be done TOTALLY ONLINE NOW, without any need of delivery slips etc. So please confirm it.

2. It is totally normal routine work. No special approval etc. needed of any kind. Just provide the properly filled slips to Sharekhan guys and they will handle it from there.

3. This point needs to be confirmed.

4. Yes you can ask your broker for All Transaction Details and they will provide it free of cost.

Thanks and regards

PS: Friends please correct, if any of my observations are wrong.

these things differ slightly from broker to broker. its good you speak to your relationship managers of both companies.

As it is a third party transfer, share khan may ask for CML copy of yours from hdfcsec. Your mom may tell them that she received these shares as a gift from her son. This can make things simpler.
