Hello friends,

Recently I read 6 Habits that will transform your life before 8:00 AM: The Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod. It is a very inspiration book. I learned 6 lessons from this book.

SAVERS
1. S- Silence (meditation for some time in the morning to clear your mind)
2. A-Affirmations (read out loud your goals)
3. V-Visualizations (Visualize your goal like you already achieve it)
4. E-Exercise daily for 10-15 minutes to stay healthy.
5. R: Read 10-20 pages of a book which can help you to attain your goal.
6. S: Scribe (write down your achievement and pending things to achieve your goal)

I found some videos as well to save your time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FXhL5BFVEl4

I personally feel we should read on daily basis and stay connected with a group of people who have same objective in order to achieve our goals. This forum really serve this purpose. I am very grateful for this.

Thanks

Story of Ramasamy and Kandasamy

Ramasamy completed B.tech and joined a MNC during Campus Recruitment. CTC 4 lakhs. His Relatives & Family friends wished him success. Ramasamy's face glowed like petramax. He thought to himself " From today onwards every day will be happy."

Kandasamy, Ramasamy's neighbor failed BA. All his relatives and friends blamed him. In Hyderabad every one is a B.tech but Kandasamy was not even BA! Kandasamy received suggestions to eke out a living by selling Idly, Dosa…. Pan ...or sell Milk… His Father was much embarrassed.

Kandasamy was in a fix… But he decided to ask his mother Rs. 2 lakhs and borrowed another Rs. 2 lakhs from an uncle, bought buffaloes and started Milk Business.

Ramasamy got facilities and used his credit card to purchase a motorcycle for commuting each day to office. Kandasamy on TVS with Milk Cans also started to sell. Ramasamy proudly said ‘Hi" to Kandasamy. Kandasamy with embarrassed look muttered Hi . & each attended to their respective duties.

6 months passed .....

Ramasamy re-paid 20% of the motorcycle purchase money. He still had to repay Rs. 80K. Kandasamy cleared Rs. 1 lakh out of his 2lakh borrowed money. When Both met Ramasamy gave a small smile ,thinking of his debt of 80K. Kandasamy also smiled reminiscing about his remaining loan of Rs. 1 lakh

1 year passed by....

Ramasamy had high hopes on a salary hike. But due to recession company mail informed all employees of no hike. While for Kandasamy, the price of half liter of milk increased to Rs. 14/-from Rs. 10/-.This increased Kandasamy’s margin by 40% and enabled him pay the remaining Rs. 1 lakh loan.

By now, with difficulty Ramasamy cleared his Bike loan and took a personal loan of 2 lakhs @ 16% interest. Ramasamy bought furniture, LCD, LapTop with loan money. Every One applauded Ramasamy as he had purchased these accessories in just 2 years time. On the other hand, Kandasamy with his business profits bought 12 more buffaloes. His income doubled.

Again both met. Ramasamy gave feeble smile thinking about his Persoal loan. Kandasamy gave a big smile since he was debt free.

After 2 more Years Ramasamy got a 10% salary hike. He then bought a Maruti Wagon R car through a Car Loan. Mean time Kandasamy bought 2 acres land for his 3 dozen buffaloes. Milk Prices increased by 30% again. Now Kandasamy was earning 200% more than Ramasamy. Kandasamy also owned one Auto to sell Milk.

Once more both faced met. With Loans and accruing Interest Ramasamy was unable to smile. Kandasamy smiled merrily driving his own Auto.

2 more years passed

Ramasamy applied for 40 lakhs home loan and bought an apartment. Kandasamy's buffaloes numbered 126. Kandasamy bought 2 apartments. Ramasamy got 10 more percent salary hike. Milk price crossed Rs. 40per liter now. Total income of Kandasamy was 500 times that of Ramasamy.

Kandasamy owned 1 Skoda and 1 Innova Car. Both met again

Ramasamy grimaced struggling to clear Rs. 40 lakh loan.

Kandasamy smiled ear to ear since he owned a medium sized Milk Factory with more than 170 buffaloes and 25 workers.

That night Ramasamy was in deep frustration. Because after 5 years Kandasamy owned 4 crores , had a monthly income of 5 lakhs & provided jobs to 25 workers. Ramasamy's salary is 7 lakhs p a with Rs. 40 lakhs debt & unbearable job dissatisfaction. This was the Balance Sheet.

Facts: In 2008 Milk was Rs. 10/- litre. Now Rs. 40/- litre. Gold Rs. 12,500/- 10 grams, Now Rs. 30000/-. In the last 5 years salary hikes for software professionals was just 30%. All commodity prices increased by 300%. Still most Indian parents think engineering is the only worthwhile profession for their wards.

Something to think about.

A crow lived in the forest and was absolutely satisfied in life. But one day he saw a swan. “This swan is so white,” he thought, “and I am so black. This swan must be the happiest bird in the world.”

He expressed his thoughts to the swan. “Actually,” the swan replied, “I was feeling that I was the happiest bird around until I saw a parrot, which has two colors. I now think the parrot is the happiest bird in creation.” The crow then approached the parrot. The parrot explained, “I lived a very happy life until I saw a peacock. I have only two colors, but the peacock has multiple colors.”

The crow then visited a peacock in the zoo and saw that hundreds of people had gathered to see him. After the people had left, the crow approached the peacock. “Dear peacock,” the crow said, “you are so beautiful. Every day thousands of people come to see and admire you. But when people see me, they immediately shoo me away. I think you are the happiest bird on the planet.”

The peacock replied, “I always thought that I was the most beautiful and happy bird on the planet. But because of my beauty, I am entrapped in this zoo. I have examined the zoo very carefully, and I have realized that the crow is the only bird that is not kept in a cage. So I have been thinking that if I were a crow, I could be free from this caged enclosure and happily roam everywhere.”

The story of the crow is a reflection of how we think. And that is our problem too. We make unnecessary comparison of our life with others, and unnecessarily become sad. We don’t value what we have, and what God has given us. All this leads to the vicious cycle of unhappiness. Remember that in life, There will always be someone who will have more or less than you have. Some person will dream of what you have, while you look at someone else, and dream what they have….

That is human nature.

This story brought back an actual incident I heard. This happened in Bangalore.

A 6 year old student was being taught the difference between Ugly and Beautiful in school. Stereotyping and dumbing down starts very young in this world!

So the teacher gave examples of Crow for ugly and Peacock for beautiful. At the end of the class she asked students to name an ugly bird and a beautiful bird, etc. When she asked this 6 year old boy, he said Crow is beautiful and Peacock is ugly. How much ever the teacher tried she could not get the boy to say crow is ugly. So she called the parents and told them that the boy seems to be mentally challenged and unabled to understand concepts. The parents were quite disappointed.

After two days, when at home, the father slowly broached the subject with the boy and asked him to say whether crow or peacock was beautiful. The boy was still adamant in his opinion that the crow was beautiful. So the father asked the boy why. The boy responded saying that the crow was beautiful because it was uniformly colored in black and because it came home, whereas the peacock had too many colours and never came home.

Valid perspective in its truest sense!!

So true Wisp.....

See that bird? It's a brown-throated thrush, but in Germany it's called a halzenfugel, and in Chinese they call it a chung ling and even if you know all those names for it, you still know nothing about the bird. You only know something about people; what they call the bird. Now that thrush sings, and teaches its young to fly, and flies so many miles away during the summer across the country, and nobody knows how it finds its way. Knowing the name of something doesn't mean you understand it. We talk in fact-deficient, obfuscating generalities to cover up our lack of understanding - Prof. Richard Feynman

Some great quotes…..

The best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago, the second best time is today.

Your success in life is largely dependent on how many uncomfortable conversations and actions you're willing to have.

I used to think that happiness comes from adding things to your life. It's quite the opposite. Subtract and strip away the non essentials in your life and see how much more free you feel.

Think of people you meet in life as if they were actors in a play. The ones who play the part of the idiots, are going to go on stage, do their idiot thing, and walk away. Don't let them make you angry, it's just the part or role they play in your life.

You don't get paid based on how hard you work. You get paid based on how hard you are to replace.

Why spend time being upset about things that are already over? You can't change the outcome of what has happened. Obsessing about what you wish had happened differently will do nothing for you. Accept it or leave it. But make the rest of your day better.

One stormy night an elderly man and his wife entered the lobby of a small hotel in Philadelphia, USA. Trying to get out of the rain, the couple approached the front desk hoping to get some shelter for the night. “Could you possibly give us a room here?” the husband asked. The clerk, a friendly man with a winning smile, looked at the couple and explained that there were three conventions in town.

“All of our rooms are taken,” the clerk said. “But I can’t send a nice couple like you out into the rain at one o’clock in the morning. Would you perhaps be willing to sleep in my room? It’s not exactly a suite, but it will be good enough to make you folks comfortable for the night.” When the couple declined, the young man pressed on. “Don’t worry about me, I’ll make out just fine,” the clerk told them.

So the couple agreed. As he paid his bill the next morning, the elderly man said to the clerk, “You are the kind of manager who should be the boss of the best hotel. Maybe someday I’ll build one for you.” The clerk looked at them and smiled. The three of them had a good laugh.

Two years passed. The old man kept in touch however though he had almost forgotten the incident when he received a letter from the old man. It recalled that stormy night and enclosed a round-trip ticket to New York, asking the young man to pay them a visit. The old man, was William Waldorf-Aster, and that magnificent structure was the original Waldorf-Astoria #Hotel. The young clerk who became its first manager was George C. Boldt.

Lessons from life

As a young boy back from school, I was preparing fresh lime water for the first time. I ended up adding five times the lemon than needed. So of course it was a disaster, and it tasted so sour that I could not even take one sip. I had to correct this disaster somehow. I could not remove some lemon juice from water to make it taste good. The only solution was to add four more glasses of water and dilute the juice and to make five glasses of fresh lime juice, by adding some extra sugar as well.

This incident has thought me to think about life when things go wrong. Sometimes we cannot undo that which has happened in life. Some wrong decisions, wrong choices, wrong actions, wrong associations, wrong words etc can never be undone. But as we cannot undo what has happened, just like attempting to remove lemon from water, Instead we can get busy in adding so many right things in our life that the wrong seems insignificant in comparison.

And with this attitude and approach, life can turn refreshing again!!!

Modern economics

A Cyclist - Is a disaster for the economy:

1. He does not buyf the car and does not take a car loan.

2. Does not buy vehicle insurance.

3. Does not buy fuel.

4. Does not use the services of repair shops and car washes.

5. Does not use paid parking.

6. Does not become obese.

7. Yes, and well, dammit ! Healthy people are not needed for the economy. They do not buy drugs. They do not go to private doctors. They do not increase the country's GDP !

On the contrary, every new McDonald's outlet creates 30 jobs:

10 Dentists, 10 Cardiologists and 10 Weight Loss Experts.

Explains why America has the highest GDP in the world. :D:D:D

Perfect observation ..

If you are Muslim and suddenly start feeling unsafe in country where you lived for more than thousand years..

If you are a Christian you find churches are being destroyed and branded as they are converting others.

If you are Dalit and start feeling insulted on every moment of life..

If you are Hindu and suddenly start feeling that cows are being slaughtered everywhere...

If you are a Jain and suddenly start feeling that your religious piety is being compromised...

If you are a Punjabi and think all the youth there are on drugs,

Just do one thing...

- Stay away from social media or unfollow all those who spreads these kind of messages..

- Stop watching news...

- Stay away from debates on religion...

Just look around you, at your friends who belong to different castes , communities and religions... You will find that you are living in one of the most tolerant countries in the world!!

Beautiful Saying....

When the two ears are put side by side, it forms the shape of the heart. Interestingly, the word 'ear' sits right in the middle of the word 'heart'.

The ear is the way to the heart. So, if you want someone's heart, learn to listen to him/her. And if you want to connect to God or a Higher Power, learn to listen to the voice in your heart.

A simple but important message, shared by doctors. (Not validated, but should think is good advise)

When you wake up at night to go to the bathroom, it is often done in a rush. As we stand suddenly, the brain lacks blood flow, leading to many elderly people to stumble.

When awakened by the urge to urinate for example, even the ECG pattern can change as getting up suddenly, the brain becomes anaemic and stressed. Hence, it is adviced to practice "3 Half minute technique"

1. When waking from sleep, lie in bed for the 1st 1/2 minute.

2. Sit in bed for the next 1/2 minute.

3. Lower your legs, sitting on the edge of the bed for the last half-minute.

Doing this, you will not have anaemic brain, reducing the possibility of a fall.

Share with family and friends.
