After some unfortunate incidents in Lok Sabha ,many might have wondered IS IT SO SEVERE?People outside
AP can not understand the FEELINGS ,but for people of AP ,it is big problem.

1.After Independence the ruler of Hyderabad (Nizam,a Muslim ) wished to remain Independent State. At that time
there was 7% population were Muslim and 93% were Hindus.( This was quite opposite to Kashmir case ,where ruler
was Hindu and people were Muslims) Sardar Patel made Nizam to join with India.

2.Andhra was a part of Tamil Nadu (rather Madras State). On linguistic basis it got
separated from Madras, with capital at Kurnool, in 1953.

3.Telangana (Hyderabad state) approached Andhra, and requested Andhra to join them, since they share common
language. In this way ,Andhra Pradesh ,is born on 1st NOV 1956.(Incidentally Karnataka shares the same day formation day).

4.In 1971,some rules framed in such way to favour Telangana.(MULKI rules).Andhra
threated to go SEPARATE ,Indira Gandhi intervened and pacified both with introduction of 6-point formula.

5.80's and 90's saw good growth in Hyderabad.

6.In 2001 ,K.Chandrasekhar Rao,started a new political party with Single agenda to form TELANGANA.Backwardness
of the region was shown as reason.

7.In Dec,2009,Sonia Gandhi declared TELANGANA as a birthday gift to people of Telangana.

8.In 2010 Srikrishna Comission was formed to study the backwardness and other aspects. It was agreed by both the
regions that they would respect the verdict ,what so ever the outcome of the report. The report went against
Telangana.KCR found fault with this report and replaced the word "backwardness" with "self respect" .
The BACKWARDNESS of a region can be gauged ,but not SELF-RESPECT.

9.On 5 December 2013, cabinet approved the Telangana draft bill prepared by Group of Ministers (GoM).
The bill has to be approved by Parliament before it becomes 29th state of the union. On December 11,
President sent the bill to Andhra Pradesh state assembly to elicit its views.

10.The Bill was rejected by assembly.

The rest of the story you are watching LIVE.

Nobody is against to for the formation of Telangana. But they are against the way it is going to be divided
and many other issues. For example ,a new capital for Andhra requires anything over a few Lakh CRORES.
What will be source of that money?

Solutions:

Since the problem is complex in nature, finding out a solution is difficult. Some suggestions:

1.Continue with the same set-up.

2.Andhra wanted to go SOLO in the year 1971 and Telangana wanted to go SOLO in the year 2001.
So give Telangana in the year 2031 (2001+(2001-1971)).This is a mathematical solution.Any strikes by
Andhra will advance the CUT-OFF year 2031.Similarly any strikes by Telangana will postpone the CUT-OFF year 2031.

3.In fact Hyderabad is bone of contention by both, since each claims it .
Whenever a part of region is DISPUTED then make it as UNION TERRITORY for few years.
This is the stand adopted by government.

The problems involved are those constitional in nature and many political issues ,it is
better left to them ,to decide the future.

Holistic approach to Telangana issue
--------------------------------------------------------------------

The demand for the separate state of Telangana is one of the long
burning issues in India. Indian government needs to act on it
immediately with a top priority without considering the narrow
political advantages of retaining power at the center or keeping
their adamant coalition partners happy. Otherwise that agitation could
drift into an unmanageable situation.

Telangana region, which includes Hyderabad city, was part of the
erstwhile Hyderabad state which was liberated from Nizam's rule on
September 17, 1948, almost 13 months after India attained
independence.

Between 1948-56 Telangana was in Hyderabad state which did not include
Andhra region. Andhra was a part of erstwhile Madras state until it
was constituted as a separate Andhra state in 1953 with Kurnool as its
capital. This Andhra state did not include Telangana.

As part of Indian government's initiative to consider the formation of
linguistic states first State Reorganisation Commission ( SRC ) led by
Justice Fazal Ali was constituted in December 1953. The SRC came out
with its report in 1955. The SRC report recommended for the merger of
Andhra and Telangana into a single state with a caveat that the merger
be done following 1961 general elections after fulfilling the
condition of getting the merger proposal approved by the legislatures
of Andhra state and Hyderabad state with a two-thirds majority.

However, the Central government ignored that condition and hastily
merged Andhra state and Telangana into a single state of Andhra
Pradesh (A.P) for all Telugu-speaking people on November 1, 1956.
These two regions were not a under a single rule for a few hundred
years preceding that day.

In 1956, at a public meeting in Nizamabad, while referring to the
merger of Telangana region and Andhra state to form Andhra Pradesh,
Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the then Prime Minister of India, said the
following words, "We are uniting an innocent girl and a naughty boy.
If they wish to continue they do. Otherwise they can take divorce at
any point of time"

Though the formation of A.P. brought all the telugu-speaking people
under a single state rule, many Telangana people were not so excited
about it. They entertained several suspicions and apprehensions about
the sharing of resources. To allay the fears of Telangana people, in
1956, Gentlemen's agreement was signed between the leaders of Andhra
and Telangana. It constituted some provisions to address the potential
problems likely to be induced by the merger. One of its provisions was
to give Deputy CM position to Telangana whenever the CM is from Andhra
and vice versa.

Neelam Sanjiva Reddy, who became the first CM of Andhra Pradesh in
1956, brazenly flouted the Gentlemen's agreement by declining to give
Deputy CM position to Telangana. He ridiculed that position as
redundant as sixth finger thus reinforcing the suspicions of Telangana
people that they were not going to get a fair deal in the combined
state.

By 1969 the discontent of Telangana people rose to its zenith
resulting in an intense and violent agitation led by Telangana Praja
Samithi (TPS) demanding a separate state. This movement lasted for
several months and about 360 Telangana students lost their lives.
Again the separate state movement picked up in 2001 after the
formation of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS ).

Now the ruling Congress party is considering to consitute a second SRC
and refer Telangana issue to that commission. This is unwarranted and
it could be considered by Telangana people as a dilatory tactic
adopted by the Central government.

Several factors justify the need to form a separate Telangana state
without any need to refer it to an SRC.

1) Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru had already declared that Telangana can
separate any time if they were not comfortable with the merger.

2) In 1971 Lok Sabha elections, Telangana Praja Samithi, the political
party demanding separate Telangana state, won two-thirds of the Lok
Sabha seats in Telangana on its own without having alliance with any
other political party.

3) So far several states in India had been formed without any
reference to SRC, which include the latest states of Jharkhand,
Chattisgarh and Uttarakhand.

4) BJP, at its Kakinada convention in 1998, pledged the separate state
of Telangana. Congress party came to power in A.P. by contesting the
last assembly elections in alliance with TRS and promising to consider
the formation of Telangana. This indicates that both the predominant
national parties are supporting Telangana.

5) The discontent among the Telangana people is snowballing. Its our
goodluck that so far the agitation is going on peacefully, and it is
in the leadership of peace-loving people. However if some more time
passes and as people become impatient, then unscrupulous and violent
people could take over the leadership. We should not let that happen.

Some people are apprehensive about the adverse implications of
Telangana state. But those fears are unfounded.

1) Some people say that Telangana is going to be a smaller state. But
that is not true. It is going to be bigger than 16 other states in
India with a population of 3.5 crores.

2) There is a question that why Telugu people should have 2 states. It
can be easily answered. Hindi speaking people have several states.
Telugu is the second most spoken language in India. It is quite
justified to have 2 states for a such a big population.

3) There is an argument that Naxalites are stronger in Telangana and
they may dominate there if a separate state is formed. That is not
valid. Naxalites are spread over multiple states in India. They are
equally stronger in North Andhra too.

4) Some people entertain the apprehension that Andhra people will be
driven out from Hyderabad and other parts of Telangana. That is not
correct. Any Indian can live in any part of India irrespective of the
regional origin. Telangana and Andhra are no exception to that rule.

Of late, there is a growing animosity among Telugu speaking people
based on Andhra-Telangana differences. Efforts need to be made to
promote cordial atmosphere. Telangana agitationists must desist from
ridiculing Andhra people in the name of their food and practices and
stop counselling Andhra employees in Telangana to move to their native
districts. Andhra people must stop ridiculing Telangana accent in the
movies they produce.

When I visited India Community Center, Milpitas, California, on Sept
19, 2004, I saw a combined cultural event being conducted by NRIs from
Bihar and Jharkhand together. It represented the distinctive as well
as common cultural roots of both the states. The amity between the
people from both the states was quite evident there. Its worth noting
that until November 15, 2000, Bihar and Jharkhand were part of a
single state, and Jharkhand people were conducting a bitter and
violent agitation demanding a separate state.

In the same tone, even after the formation of Telangana state, both
Andhra and Telangana people will continue to work together, promoting
the Telugu cultural unity under the wide umbrella of Indian cultural
diaspora.

Some politicians and intellectuals are expressing concern about the
demands for new states. But infact formation of more states is a
positive trend. In the past 50 years India's population grew multi-
fold. Administrative complexity and citizens' expections from the
state governments have increased rapidly. Bigger states have become
unwieldy. It is highly recommended to have viable smaller states to
provide a better government to meet the expectations of the people.

India is a huge country that practises unity in diversity.
Accommodating regional identities by forming separate states
accordingly strengthens the unity among people.
If these legitimate demands are met promptly on case-by-case basis,
the youth of those regions can focus more on making India a developed
country rather than dissipating their energies in conducting
agitations.

My intention of putting this post is to make PEOPLE out of AP to know the
SEVERITY of the problem. I refrain from putting any post on this
Issue because it is sheer waste of my time as well as energy.

bhai log. don't get trapped in our politicians ( T or AP) net. first of all we are indians. we live any where in our country. nobody can't tell us "leave from our state".

as KCR early times said that all AP men loot our Tealngana. so they were back in all aspects. now he changed his stand from backward to self respect.

now our AP men realized (previously they are blind :D) and fight against bill. this drama getting climax. all (T & AP) do their action roles with good performence, in the direction of (Congress).

as my final word, any party, in any region, their aim is only to form government.
they want ruling not general people's problems. so get piece of mind what ever go. don't trap in net.
