“Sisters and Brothers of America -- I am proud to belong to a religion which has taught the world both tolerance and universal acceptance. We believe not only in universal tolerations, but we accept all religions as true. I am proud to belong to a nation which has sheltered the persecuted and the refugees of all religions and all nations of the earth ... I fervently hope that the bell that tolled this morning in honour of this convention may be the death knell of all fanaticism, of all persecutions with the sword or with the pen, and of all uncharitable feelings between persons wending their way to the same goal.”

On 9/11/1906, the Satyagraha movement of Mohandas Gandhi was launched in South Africa.

On 9/11/1922, the British mandate of Palestine begins. THE SEED OF TERRORISM IS SOWN.

On 9/11/1982. Chris Evert wins her 6th & final US Open Tennis match at West Side Tennis Club in Forest Hills NY.

On 9/11/1986. Dow Jones Industrial Avg suffered biggest 1-day decline ever, plummeting 86.61 points to 1,792.89. 237.57 million shares traded.

On 9/11/1998. The U.S. Congress releases the report of special prosecutor Kenneth Starr, which details President Bill Clinton's alleged sexual misconduct and accuses the president of perjury and obstruction of justice.
