My articles in the Times of India

I have been receiving a lot of nice messages from some of you in the past few days. Its nice to be missed. Traderji is so far the best forum I have participated in and I too enjoyed every minute of it. In fact, I would like to thank Traderji for enhancing my confidence as a writer considerably which enabled me to do well on my blogs which furthur enabled me to impress the Times of India. I am greatful for my apprenticeship here as both a trader and writer. I dearly wish I was as good in the former as I am in the latter.

My articles in the Times of India(Delhi) appeared under "Mind, body, spirit and you" appeared on 22/8/2006 and 29/8/2006(Every Tuesday-its an ongoing series). Though they are more about what can happen to you if you are in the wrong occupation(where you spend a majority of your waking hours), they apply equally to trading at least where you are supposed to pinpoint where exactly you can excel. Everybody cannot be good in all kinds of trading. Earlier, articles by me on the same subject appeared in magazines such as Life positive(November 2001) and the Eternal solutions(April'2006). As some of you are aware, I have a blog "Make your passion your profession"-
http://mypyp.wordpress.com/. I have read articles on how some Traders do Yoga and meditation to improve trading. So it may not be a bad idea for some of you to read that column regularly for articles by others as well.

For some of the newcomers who may think that I am trying to show off, remember a practical lesson in life- It takes a show off to be a show on which I have said earlier in this forum.

I miss everybody too- Nkp, joy, the redoubtable creditviolet and my dear friend Jaideep. With all the research I have to do for the Times, my regular blogs, other spiritual forums, I am really hardpressed for time.

I will try to participate as an investor. Thanks once again for your nice, lovely messages. Warm regards to Traderji(congrats-its a far more vibrant forum than during my and credit's time) as well:-

Though Trading is something I may or may not regret
Traderji is a forum I shall never forget
Its not just monetary profits and losses alone over which we may fume and fret
Big picture is more important- interactions in the forums you have participated in or the people you met.

Thanks once again and I hope Tradderji scales greater heights and retains its numero uno position as a forum in India.

Best of luck to everybody in Trading and life.

Kind of made me swallow hard reading this thread. sh50, you are one of the better guys (so many of 'em now) in this august forum. Versatility is your forte & you did prove it to all of us over the past couple of years.

I for one am glad to note that you are an active blogger now. Your forays into writing I shall follow very keenly, as far as I can that is.

Like they say....you can't keep a good man down, can you? Your expertise in this forum is warranted, to say the least. Please do not disappoint us.

Maybe, just maybe...... an Ode to you could very well be on the cards.

Everyone here I am sure are with me in wishing you well in your new (ad)venture. :)

Thanks, Jaideep. Trading is not something that I am really all that keen now but I will never forget traderji. People have been sending nice messages. I can always participate as an investor. It would be nice to read some of your poetic compositions that I must have missed.

You have missed none my friend because I seem to have gone into some sort of hibernation phase, unwittingly I would think. You for one will understand how the mind works; stimulation is the name of the game; catalysis some would call it perhaps.:D

Never mind the trading & investing part of it sh50, you always came across to me as a versatile guy with a capital V. Your other side did fascinate me, meaning not the trading/investor side but the philosophical/literateur/everything-else side my friend.

Now, you do deserve an Ode or something alike. Give me a wee bit of time & you won't be disappointed, no one here for that matter.:)

Hi sh50

It was a pleasant surprise to see your post here again after a long time.
and to learn that now you write a column in Times regularly.Your ideas and expositions about market and life in general are missed here.

As you have made writing a profession, it would be good if you do post some times here as well.I have seen members pine for your writeups.

Wish you all the best in life.

Thanks pkjha30 and Jaideep. Nice to be appreciated. Other people have been writing on similar lines. Traderji has also given permission. I never wanted to misuse traderji but before my paricipation on traderji began , I already had a kind of website - http://www.authorsden.com/hirensurendrashah
This has the latest articles in the Times of India and the article pertaining to trading- Sprirituality and the sharemarket which was publshed in the magazine "The Eternal solutions".

This site has alll the articles and poems. My main blog is http://hirenshah.wordpress.com/

In this blog you will get all the links under my published works and my other blogs.

Jaideep, there is one site specially for you and those poetically inclined- http://www.poetseers.org/submissions/2006/hiren_shah/

You can probably conrtibute much better there than me with your classy verses. I am a little hardpressed for time because I have to go out during the weekend but I will write to you personally later.

One practical suggestion- There are artistes who have endured a lifetime of misery for the love of their work and got posthumously apprciated. Blogs and sites like authorsden also function as a kind of mutual admiratin society. So one should not judge by others response but judge what one's own intuition and common sense says.

Trading is not really my cup of tea but I will participate as an investor.
