NSE Server problem????

Around 3.00 P.M there was problem with Sharekhan and RKSV terminals. Also understand similar problems with users of IIFL. Understand the terminals hungup and they were 'restarted' by the brokerages.

NSE is supposed to be the topnotch as far as technology is concerned, and at a time the index was trending downwards, inability to trade can result in big losses for the investors/traders.

Luckily, I was holding a short position so it panned out well. But was wondering what if I was holding a position on the other side of the trade.? Who would be responsible for the loss incase the same was big?

Similar 'server' problems were reported in the forum earlier. Now wondering what could be the cause of this? Is there something that we should be worried.??

You cannot do anything about such issues. There will always be problems like these, even the US exchanges face such issues occasionally.

Thanks Aryan for your input. However your answer suggest its something that I should be worried about since I hold upto 5-6 future lots, and in a market trending against me, it is a concern.

I have at one time previously faced a similar issue but was able to quickly log back and exit the trade.

If this is a NSE issue, I am sure the broker will not be able to help as well.

Should you be worried about it?

Yes and no. No because these issues occur very rarely, yes because these issues are real, can occur sometimes and might wipe out your position if the trend is going the wrong way, if you dont have stop loss.
