Some Tucker stories

Tucker is seen in the picture. I've been asked if that is me and I reply, "No, I'm not that handsome."
Anyway....Tucker is known as The Boss around my house. He is also known as m'boy. Whenever in doubt, he is my lovable chihuahua.

I'm going to share some stories. Most of them you should get a laugh from.

Wait! Wait! Here he comes. Tucker is now making his grand entrance. Stand up and applaud.

An optical allusion

This is my favorite:

We were having a very lazy fall Saturday morning. It was about 9:00 on a beautiful morning. We live in the country, and the neighbors are spaced a ways a part. I was taking it easy with a cup of coffee in the front yard in my house slippers, pajamas, and bathrobe. Tucker left our little area, and I assumed he was in the back of our property romping around. All of a sudden, I noticed him out near the street, and he kept walking away from us while glaring at us. I yelled, "Tucker! Get over here! Right now!". He kept glaring and kept walking towards the neighbors. That was not like Tucker. This really surprised me. I had to get up and go after him. He made it all the way to the neighbors. (Don't forget how I'm dressed.) He walks on the neighbor's property, and then walks under the bush. I crawl under it, and he crawls out the other end. I get up, and then see he is standing on the neighbor's porch. By now, I'm really getting mad at the dog. I'm walking towards the porch, when after a closer look, I noticed it was a cat with the same identical markings and size. I walk back to the house, and there is Tucker calmly sitting next to my lawn chair and my wife laughing hysterically.

A walk throguh Lowe's

This happened the other day when Tucker and I went to Lowe's.
I saw a buddy of mine at the store and he was commenting on how quiet and well-behaved Tucker is. I told him in public he is very quiet, but at home he is not that quiet. Still, in public he says next to nothing. My friend said that when he is with me he can't get a word in edgewise (I like to talk--lol.). Just as if Tucker understood him he started growling, then was staring at him and barking.
What was even funnier was I got home and told my wife about it, and she thought it was more funny that Jim (My friend.) was saying how the dog could not get a word in edgewise.

I'm leaving anyway

My wife loves giving Tucker a hard time, and I love giving her dog, a chihuahua-yorkshire, a hard time. Tucker and I are getting ready to run some errands, and I'm already out the door, and Tucker is trailing me. Tucker did not make it out the door yet when my wife got in his way telling him he is not going anywhere. He starts barking at my wife, then looks to me to help him out. Finally he takes off running and runs right between my wife's legs. Now that he is safely out, he looks at my wife, then dashes at her and barks like crazy while going after her ankles. After that he runs to the car and waits calmly for me to arrive.

May I help you

We always go to Staples to get our printing done. He has become known as the Staples mascot. I walk over to the printing station, and the guy is used to seeing us in there. Tucker was riding on my shoulder like he does so much. He looks at Tucker square in the eye and asks, "Hello Tucker! How may I help you today?"
I had to give the guy a gentle reminder that I am still the one carrying the wallet.

Four-Wheeling

This is more serious, but I'm thankful everyday for an obedient dog:

I was taking him for our walk. We get to this field when I noticed the kids were on their four-wheelers flying around their homemade track. It is cut in the shape of an "8". Tucker is just walking along and approaches the track, and I thought I was going to have a heart attack. He gets to the track, then crosses into the inner loop. I screamed, "Tucker!!! Stop!!!!. He stopped. Dead in his tracks. I yelled again, "Sit!!!" He sat. The four-wheelers flew by. I ran over and picked him up, and just thanked God for his protection and for my obedient dog.

He's got the parking lots down pat

He has all the parking lots memorized. When we pull into Lowe's, Staples, the water place, Tractor and Supply, he love's it. He knows he's getting out. He looks so despondent when we pull into Krogers or Wal Mart. He knows he can't go in there.
Usually at Tractor and I have big bulky items to get, so I get a cart and put him in it. He loves to ride in the cart. Customers and employees, alike are just laughing.
The park he really gets excited. That's where we get out for our walk around the track.

Time for church

I forgot my Bible and notebook at church one night. I called the church to let them know I was going there to pick it up. I went to the custodian's house who lives on the same property as the church to get the keys to the church. They got a good laugh to see me and Tucker take off running and chasing each other towards the church. We got to the door, walked in, and I let him walk with me to my seat. He may have been the only dog to go to church.
