As we know that in NSE, we cannot short sell stocks on a delivery basis. It has to be squared up within the same day.

Another better option to play the downside is by buying put options. Here it can be done on a delivery basis.

I am new to trading and I want to know any other way(s) of how to remain invested for many days in a falling market?

1.Are there any (1)short ETFs , (2)bear funds ,(3) mutual funds?

2.Are there any other trading vehicles that can allow us to remain invested in the falling market on a delivery basis?

Absence of Short or Ultra Short ETFs in our markets... bestway would be to calculate the beta of the portfolio... and depending on what beta is derived one can short Nifty Futures....

Above is applicable if +75% of the portfolio consists of Nifty50 Components

For mix of components one look at Bank Nifty Future or Nifty Junior

3. Above is applicable if +75% of the portfolio consists of Nifty50 Components
4. For mix of components one look at Bank Nifty Future or Nifty Junior

I am sorry but I am very much new to stock market. I don't know what they mean.

Would you please kindly help with the meanings? Or at least tell me any online resource where they are explained in good details.

beta is a measure of your portfolio's performance in comparison to overall market.

(I hope you will have a doubt now what is portfolio, and how to judge the performance of overall market)

portfolio is the mix of your investments (assets), including cash, gold, stocks etc. etc.

how you measure all this you can learn from investopedia (i am not good at remembering formulae)

shorting means selling something in anticipation of a fall in prices. so shorting NIFTY futures means selling NIFTY futures.

NIFTY50, BankNIFTY, NIFTY Junior etc are indices, which indicate largely the market performance or performance of a segment of market (because you cant measure the performance each and every stock in the a market)

NIFTY contains 50 stocks in some proportion, which is available to you in NSE site

I hope i have made an effort to reach you in a small way. Still you are not clear please get back in this forum with your doubts
