Hello Anyone Who's Interested In Cricket,
I'm active on another thread titled "Need a Mentor' and three posters there agreed that we need a little bit of distraction, every now and then from Trading. Hence, this thread......Please post anything related to Cricket.......we don't have to get serious here.....remember the idea is to relax..... enjoy our trading journey together.

Annu, Learn2trade, etal,
I don't get a good feeling with out team for champions trophy. Bowling lacks that bite and economy which we could have with Zaheer. RP and Nehra might become cannon fodder......Batting feels better with SRT and Dravid in the mix, missing sehwag.

I would be very happy to be wrong here.......

Even me too....not very hopeful. Reasons are:

1. In SriLanka - we were rusty. Even though won it but not convincingly at all.
2. Sachin has done his part i.e had a huge century just now, so will be quite for some time as per my technical analysis. This analysis - I desparately want to be wrong and I'm huge fan of Sachin. But, last 2-3 yrs, its like this only.
3. Format of Champions trophy leaves very less room for mistakes : and what I believe is that - it is not suited for India. India needs a wake up call in almost every tournament - where they falter in a game or 2 big time and then wake up and start performing. But in CT, that luxury is not available as per format and we'll be out soon.

Hopefully, I wish I'm proven wrong in all 3 points above.

These youngsters in Indian team are very exciting. I mean, these guys have tremendous potential. Few observations from my side on our team, please let me know your thoughts as well.

Yousuf Pathan : DId show tremendous potential during IPL, was like dynamite and I was extremely excited about him. But, now I believe that against quality bowling, he lacks and very difficult for him to be what he's shown us in IPL. So, if a team lacks genuine quality bowlers, he can be extremely useful but against teams like SA, SL, Aus - YP will struggle

Suresh Raina : Class and great asset. I'm banking a lot on this guy. He'll turn table around

Dravid : not much hope but yes, he'll be quite solid as always. Though, will not be match winner single handedly in any match

Gautam : : again, a class player. Don't want him to play as he did in T20 WC this time. He'llhopefully fire and b/w Gautam & Raina - if they alternately fire in every match (with bit of support from other guys), India has got strong chances

Yuvraj : He belongs to my state only but has never appealed me at all because of his (careless & arrogant) attitude. He can never be Mr. Dependable though will as always, single handedly get you 1 or 2 matches won on his own

Tired now, will post my reviews for rest of the team as well.

Guys, please share your reviews as well, will be very interesting

Learn2trade,
Agree about Yousuf Pathan.

Still not good enough against quality fast bowling. He's been shown several times already. He's been given so many chances.
Suresh Raina : Class and great asset. I'm banking a lot on this guy. He'll turn table around

With the way current young crop is performing, Sachin and Dravid are a must in any team. Most people don't know about this but before failures triggered due to the way Mr. DBV treated Dravid, Dravid's strike rate in ODIs was better than SRT. Don't know how it is now. Hopefully younger crop will learn to face fast bowling from both SRT and RD when they're around.
Dravid : not much hope but yes, he'll be quite solid as always. Though, will not be match winner single handedly in any match

Still not sure about two things - Ability on swinging pitces against genuine fast bowling. 2: Strike rate. Tends to get bogged down. Has a few weaknesses which a team like Aus and SA can exploit.
Gautam : : again, a class player. Don't want him to play as he did in T20 WC this time. He'llhopefully fire and b/w Gautam & Raina - if they alternately fire in every match (with bit of support from other guys), India has got strong chances

Very arrogant. Careless in situations when most needed. So many players in our history have been sacrificed due to lack of opportunity. Has weakness against thoughtful spin bowling or very early on in his innings against fast bowlers too...
