How to remove this nuisance?

Please see the picture below.

You will see that there is no blank space between words. Instead there is a dot. Further there is a reverse P at the end of each paragraph. I do not how it appeared. I thought it some sort of paragraph formatting which has been activated accidentally. All my attempts (with whatever a little knowledge about microsoft word I have) to remove them have failed. It is annoying to prepare a document with these kinds of nuisances.

Kindly guide me as to how to remove these dots and special signs.
Thanks and regards

HI Mr Iyer

Just go to Tools >> Options >> View l Tab in Ms Word.

Uncheck all check boxes under heading Formatting Marks.

These marks will disappear.

These are formatting marks used by MS Word internally to format a word document. In plain text files these marks are not included. If you open a MS word file in any plain text editor you will find junk characters(special symbols indicating file descriptor , formatting ,options but unreadable by Humans)
like this
ࡱThis is a formatted part.

Dear Sats, Sanjay, BVP and Pankaj
I am truely overwhelmed by your help. Indeed it worked. I just clicked on the reverse P button from the right hand side. It is now as usual.
Thanks very much to all of you.
With warm regards
