Buying Chair online

I am looking for a simple comfortable 'office chair' online. Had got chair from local store (zebra), and its not very comfortable with bad backrest. Makes me appreciate the good chairs i had in office.

Anyone has any experience buying it online? There are too many options and hardly any reviews. Which companies are good? Any recommendation for a specific chair will be very helpful.

I am looking to buy maybe from pepperfry ( has some discount going on btw) or amazon.in because they seem to have good return policies.

Go for Adjustable Backrest mesh Chair like below
They costly compare to normal office chair but very comfortable.
Visit few local store and try it out.

Whats advantage of mesh?

Even my existing chair has adjustable back rest but its a bit tilted so you cant keep your back straight when resting on it. I didnt realise that when i tried it and just went with whatever he recommended. And thats the problem, i dont think i can evaulate chair without sitting for few hrs.

So i am looking for any particular models that people have found to be good.
thanks

TraceBullet,

Ideally, you want your chair to be comfortable and durable. What you can get online is a good price, but you will never know how comfortable the chair is (inspite of all bells and whistles attached) unless you sit in it. What I suggest is first to go out and try some branded chairs in the actual showroom of the company. Once you are happy with this, get the model name / number and try to buy the same online.....

Yes, that is what i may have to do, but again i dont think i can judge long use comfort by trying for 5 mins ( as i did with 'zebra'). I dont know which brands are good. Optimal Price is not issue, i dont mind paying couple of k more if i can get more assurance for, as you said, comfort and durability.

For now, i just try to use some cushions as added back support. thanks

I think get the most adjustable chair, armrest height should be adjustable, back tilt adjustable, chair height adjustable, etc. Lifestyle chairs are good IMHO. Any chair that gives you an unnatural posture would be not good.

@TracerBullet I am also in the same situation, as you were in Dec 2015.
Brother, could you please post the link to some good chairs that you found ?

Any other friends who might have purchased a new chair over the past few years, could you post the links ?

Thanks a lot

i was searching and dreaming ... hoping to make money to buy one day. i did the 2nd one in the list for my wife :-(

1)
try indiamart and narrow down on an address thats near by .. so you can pay a visit and beg to give one chair (because they are looking for bulk orders and no retail)

2)
convert your normal chair with car backrest (called lumbar support) from amazon at cheap price.

You mean the chair like this one -
https://www.amazon.in/Chairs-Apollo...1_1_5?s=kitchen&ie=UTF8&qid=1542194893&sr=1-5

Has anyone tried APEX chair ? I have heard their name for the first time. They have got many similar looking models on Amazon and Flipkart these days. The reviews are very mixed though. Not sure whether I should buy it online.

Best Regards
