Enough times it has been talked about. But none seems interested in that.
I have seen many times it has been posted in this forum. It has not invoked due interest.

Let us not forget that this type of trading is done by most of the professional traders, institutional investors, HNIs. Can we neglect such a simple yet effective strategy in the race to grab holygrail?

EMA 20 on three minutes chart of Banknifty futures.

It has a strike rate of 30 to 35 percent. It has a potential to loose 7 trades in 10 trades. It is obviously a trend following strategy. It enjoys a RR of 1 to 3 and above.

On backtest of July series, the system has already made 400 points in 47 trades (brokerage duly adjusted).

Guts to take all the trades the system generates and holding the trades until target or stop loss hits is the key.

Do you have it in you? is the obvious question.

I will post the rules how to take the trades in my second post by seeing the interest shown by the members. If no interest is generated, let this thread die like any other as earlier. I want to atleast some of the struggling members to gain from this thread.

I too trade with 3M20EMA for stock/indices. Would be interested to have your take on it.

I, too, use 20ema but on a higher tf (15 min.) Gives good results. Would certainly be interested in knowing the rules. But 7 loosing trades in 10 sounds bad unless sl is very close and the target is comparatively higher.

Would be interested in knowing the rules so that back-test can be performed

When to take the trade.

Set ups are shown below.

Important

When a buy set up is ready, but the trade is not triggered and the price has slipped down eventually to touch EMA, then the buy setup gets cancelled.
Look for a fresh setup. If the trade is triggered, there is no problem even if the price touches EMA. For sell set ups vice versa rule applies.

Management of Trade in the next post.
