then there is expiry factor also, if u r a swing trader. its not a big deal, its simply closing current month contract and opening next month contract.

Start futures only if you have deep pockets for bigger stop losses.
There are huge gap ups and gap downs which can go against your position.
Also MTM is added/deducted on a daily basis for futures. So possibility of a margin call always exists

Yes.. you can definitely do day trading in future stocks.

1. Future contracts have expiry date which is the last Thursday of every month whereas cash stocks don't have any expiry date.

2. If you invest in cash, you have to pay entire money but for future you have to pay only the margin amount decided by the exchange.

For example,If you want to buy ICICI Bank (lot size 250), you have to pay 58000 but in cash if you buy 250 shares, your investment amount will be (250*1453)=360000

3. You can short sell in future and carry-forward and you can day trade in equity but if you short sell in equity and you don't have a share in your demat account, you have to square off your position before the market closes for the day or you have to face auction.

Thanks...

I have tried both futures and options.....but I feel futures are better in many terms than options....to be successfull in both these instruments you need to know the direction of the market.

BUT I do agree that futures can burn a big hole in your pocket especially if you a re afresh in stock world (has happened to me) and since then I am learning and learning and learning...

And based on my experience I suggest futures but to be done with STRICT DISCIPLINE.

My advice ........If you traded.....more than 3 yrs in cash (School )

market.....You can start future.......but never Future stocks.....(university) first try in Index (College)........after two years in index you can start stocks future....it's because of risk.....:thumb:
