Titan Industries - Why the RBI limit on FII investment and when would it get lifted?

#1
Hi Everyone,

A quick question - beginning Nov, RBI announced that FII investment in Titan has reached the upper limit and they can no longer buy the stock. Since then the stock has fallen from 265/- to 225/- (a significant 15% drop).

How does RBI take a call on this? When would this ban come off? Can the limit get increased? Is it at RBI's discretion?

Thanks!

Right now I am long on Titan from 230 levels with 227 as SL. Any suggestions?

Amardeep

I saw your post of Jubilant foodworks. Did you hold it till you get your rate or took loss?

I am in the same position now. Stuck with shorts at around 1170. Still holding.

Manoj,

I could get out without any loss (infact a small profit!) but had to hold on for too long...

They have opened too many outlets and all these outlets are now cutting each other's customer base. Dunkin has so far not been a runaway success.

Having said that, there are not too many QSR players that FII's can ride on when it comes to the India landscape. The quarterly commentary from the management wasn't too bad either. Hence the price jump, i guess.

But i think you could still hold on. If you have the holding power, this one should come down. Might take some time, but would come down.

Let me know if you agree!

Thanks!

Yes Amardeep I agree to what you have said.

I can hold it till 1400 levels after that I can't. That is what I put in my mind.

I am just surprised why FIIs are so bullish on this scripts. JFL can't even meet the guidance set by the management from last few quarters.
