When someone is going short on a particular future on a day is it necessary to square off that day itself like in equities or it can be carried forward to next trading days ?

There Are Margin Files On NSE, But They Are In Proprietary Format & Only Broker Members Have Access To It.

The Total Margin Consists Of Two Parts a) Initial Margin (As Required By The Exchange) + Exposure Margin (Percentage For Which Is Declared By NSE For The Month & Remains The Same Through The Month.

Initial Margin Percentage Changes Depending On The Implied Volatility.

Total Margin Should Remain The Same Across All The Brokers, But I Believe It Does Vary A Bit Though.
