Some Guidance

I have been a cash market trader(buyer) form past 3 years. I think that in the next 10 years I may be able to recover my money atleast. I want to protect my stock by shorting in futures Mini Nifty is it right or not pls advice

never ever try to play game in futures, if you will start loosing it wil be the end of everything . . .

Futures are leveraged instrument and one can loose money at lot faster rate here.
So please avoid trading in futures.

It seems, you have to get right strategy in place and follow that with discpline. (refer to "teach a man to fish--" thread on this forum.. It gives very simple strategy to follow). If you can follow that consistently, then only think of getting into levearged instrument.

If i have rightly understood your post that you are still holding your portfolio & you want to sell Mini Nifty as a hedging instrument.Yes you can do it but before doing that you have to calculate your protfolio's Beta value,then calculate how many Lots to balance it.
