Hi Pramod,

Since You Have Been Successfully Trading In Index & Stock Options, Half Your Job Is Done.

Why Not Try Nifty, CNXIT & Stock Futures For The Same Reasons That You Take Position In Options.

Things To Remember Is Stay Long With Sectors Are In Favour & Short With Sectors Which Seem To Be Out Of Favour.

Basic Reason For People Losing In Futures Is Being Over Leveraged & Not Being Able To Meet The Mark To Market. As Simple As That

Let Us Know Your Progress As And When You Do Start Dabbling

Happy & Safe Trading

Great Words Savant Sir,..

I would like add a simple thing Just follow the system. Avoid leaverage. Take calculated risk.

Other then that i can say stick to basics. For me to trade in Futures is as same as taking Delivery of stock for a desired time period ( from 1 day to 1 month or more ). Its as same as taking delivery home, only thing is u r not paying 100% here but just the margin required by NSE ( normally near 20-25% ).

People thinks Taking Delivery home is a wise deal. May be they r right , but i m askin once again, when market crashes if ur investment in deliveries come down to 50% (due to lac of discipline of course). Nobody likes it. Nobody likes to admit it that they r safe coz they r holding deliveries. But at end of the day scenario is same. They hold it till they gain something from it or book loss. Same with futures. Either u keep on carry forwarding them ( i dont ) or simply get out when it hits ur stoploss. Once again i m telling , the best thing is that Stick to basics and follow ur stops n target. That is the key to trade any market.

Regards,.
Darsh

futures can b the best place on earth 2 b in....but if played without strategies can kill one.....so , while tracking futs , dont enter directly , play with the underlying cash stock in small qties.....for 6 to 12 months & then proceed 2 the futures

as futs cannot result in delivery , its a plain speculative action .....so without TECHNICAL ANALYSIS , it would b like going out in rain without an umbrela....cause with TA.....stoploss is generated which is the lifeline for any trader here......no stoploss......no stopping of loss.....& when loss does not stop......the trader STOPS...

Can anybody explain the open interest effects in future trading? I am only aware that when the Open interest rising along with prices, is a bullish indicator that an uptrend is in progress and is likely to be sustained. (and vice vesa)

On the channels always we hear fresh short/long positions in OI are added or winding up is happening. How it is assessed. What are the effects? Please explain.

Regards

Sajeev
