Hi all, are their any restrictions for US resident NRI s to trade NIFTY futures? Which broker would you recommend for this?I would appreciate any inputs on this. Thanks in advance..

BTW, a really good book for any trader is Van Tharp's book trade your way to financial freedom. It mentions that the typical risk per trade should not typically exceed 3 percent of the account value. If a stop loss of 3% of account value results in getting stopped out too frequently, probably one is underfunded.

Couple of bad days like Black Monday 1987 when US markets plunged 20% would be enough to wipe out an over leveraged account. I remember one such Incident happening in India last year when markets plunged.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Monday_%281987%29
If an account is down 30% , it is easy to recover, if it is down 50%, one needs to make make 100% to recover. Any trading systems that are developed should have proper position sizing in place and be specific for individual account needs ( timeframe , risk tolerance etc)

Hi Just Nifty And All Members
Mkt Facing Major Resistance At6000. What Is Ur Feeling? Where Is It Headed Now And Whats Ur Strategy? I Think Buying A Straddle( One Call And One Put At The Same Stike Price5900) Will B A Good Way To Approach For This Month. Adx Moved Above 26 Showing A Trend But Wait 4 That Closing Above 6011 B'4 Taking Ne Long Posn. Mr Vinod Has Done An Excellent Work. Hats Off 2 U Sir. My Only Concern Is That The Mechanical Trading System Will B As Effective In The Most Challenging Condition Of The Mkt--------that Is The Consolidation Phase....i Sincierly Hope That Mkt Breaks Out Or Breaks Down. Enough Of This Whipsawing. As 11 Dec Approaches Cross Ur Fingers ,hope 4 The Best N Prepare 4 The Worst. And Hey Guys Kep Interacting.....

Regards Robin
