Companies with the Best Past Performance

Gents,

Need your inputs in analyzing all the stocks on the BSE Universe to pick the current and next generation of winners

1) Download and Store Fundamental Data of sample 600 Companies From Mar 2006 - Current -- More or Less Achieved using Data from Economictimes website. So free and can use MoneyControl if need be.
2) Store in a TM1 Database - More or Less Done.


So need tips to analyse this information to rank them.
1) If turnover has grown over the past year then assign 1 or assign zero.
2) If eps grown has grown over the past year then assign 1 or assign zero.
3) Similary pat margin growth
4) if cashflow positive then 1 or zero
5) if debt then zero else 1.

So out of a total score of 25 I should get companies with 22 +

Have I missed something, the results are outstanding and very quick, I could do this in 3 hours.

I am finding some real hidden jewels and some surprises like Jindal Poly Films.
but again they are based on past performance.

Weightage has to be given more for current year's data. Point No.5 regarding debt requires further details

How are you downloading the data from economic times ?

"if debt then zero else 1." I look at the Balance sheet here and I award zero or 1 depending.

Looking at Current Year Data is nice but I would like to go back in History and pick the consistent performance hence the 5 year data.

Any more ideas.
