On a long term basis lot of things come in to play

First thing this year on list is Chinese Olympics. A factor that drived consumption of metals and other building raw materials (not cement). This factor is going to end in a few days. So a negative factor already factoring in international markets.

Second thing is Rising Rupee a factor worst for some of industries a lot is already explained

Third is Rising Consumption and Environmental concerns. Products will change, Technology best to the Environment will survive others will perish

Banks will have to face tougher competetion from international peers

Political uncertainity due to elections

oil may rise more

coming to the Positive factors growing confidence of Industry may workout for greater good like Tata's Nano working wonders/ orders for automobile Industry

Takeover of larger international brands may take place this year

Rural Markets may rise with growing penetration of Service Industries like Banks etc. which may ultimately lead to new market creation

Lastly lot is to be due on Agriculture so Govt. may do something significant for Agriculture and it's development since this is the year before general elections

lots of pf money, foreign funds, nri flows, mf money, domestinc inflow wll flush the market of it's basics

all above views are purely predictory in nature so a trader trading for long term may consider these factors.
