Question Re: can we continue to raise when the US market is falling?

I think the key factor that will drive the market will be jan11,federal minutes....with US job data showing no signs of improvement, falling market,a recession in the pipeline...
this may prompt the fed to cut rates again by .25%....

But inflation is also a major worry for the federal....

I expect a range bound market next week, until jan11;next thursday

FII's are net sellers from jan2 onwards....

I hear contradictory statements from analysts. On the one hand they say that US economy is slowing down and since US is the largest consumer all other world economies will suffer. But on the other hand they say that money is being taken out of the US markets and deployed in growing economies like Asia and latin america.
This is my take on this. Although it's quite simplistic and straightforward.
If the US markets falls badly that means people are pulling out their money and if they choose to re-deploy that money in equities then India will be a prefered destination due to its stable democratic government and free market policies. That means we will see a sharp divergence between the US and Indian markets. US markets will fall and Indian markets will rise over the next 5 years.

Longer term very likely, but the growth rate may slow down and I think we may see less returns than we are used to. But in the short term we may have very rough bumps and typically Indian markets are more volatile. As always, no one can predict, we go with the flow

Cheers
