Obtaining fundamental data of all the listed companies is in itself a herculean task if one tries to do it from their quarterly/annual results. For developed markets, its quite easy. there are many stock screeners. Here is a list http://indiainvestor.wordpress.com/2...ock-screeners/
But indian markets though had come a long way, doesnt offer such advantage for investors wherein they can look for fundamental data and compare/screen companies. They are really difficult to find and often are not free. Here are few "free" ones which I could find: 1. http://www.equitymaster.com/research...h/internal.asp 2. http://content.icicidirect.com/resea...tomsearch.asp? icicidirect home page>research>custom stock screener 3. http://www.investsmartindia.com/prof...?mno=4&index=0 Not a screener but you get fundamental data. 4. http://economictimes.***************/...nge=b&ticker=a Moreover, values vary from site to site and even within the site. For example, atlast cycle shows up as a company with roce of more than 50% in equitymaster screen, but when you click on it to get detailed financial, it shows single digit roce. These are not very efficient. Please post any links that you know. Last edited by ravi_s_ghosh : 23rd October 2007 at 04:21 PM. |

well, its not exactly about fundamentals..
I kinda envy all hospitals that charge exorbitant amount, yet pay a General physician a poor salary. So when I wanted to buy hospitals around tamilnadu, this link helped me to find. http://www.moneycontrol.com/stocks/m...cal%20Services Same for other industries.. Not exactly a fundamental pick. But it does help me to compare value of businesses. |

Ravi,
Thanks for the links you have posted. I have also been looking for ability to screen stocks based on combination of fundamentals - starting at simple parameters like revenue growth, earning growth, PE, and price/volume action. As you have pointed out, this is widely available for US market. My US broker also allows me to include ratings from First Call in the screen - which accounts for earning surprise and rising eps estimates - I have found that this is a significant factor in predicting future performance. -- Milind |

well with the links mentioned above, one thing needs to kept in mind that the fundamental data is not correct quite often. Many a times, they are not updated and gives wrong impression about a company.

As I am unfamiliar with the Indian markets. I can not answer regarding data for the markets there... however, there is a thread re FCharts in the board and those people, I am sure have data sources....
FCharts also can receive intraday data....... Perhaps is best to go to the web page and investigate. they may even have a list of data sources www.spacejock.com I have used FcPro for several years and have found it to be excellent value. The scan features are great!!!!! |
