High Networth Individual (HNI). Please who will apply above Rs.1 lac in IPO will be categorised under HNI and below Rs.1 lacs as Individual (Small investor). There are some quota fixed for Individual, HNI and QIB. Chances of getting allotment in HNI will be brighter than Individual.

ranj 2k,

High net worth ,means your Credit worthiness ,as Banks or other financial institution rate you by looking at your Actual assets Liquid/Fixed.
By applying in 1 Lack category ,if you are not actually an HNI in financial worth you cant become HNI just by applying ,then all tom dick & harry like me would have been HNI Super-Nova,but by applying you will unknowingly draw the attention of IT deptt only.

Asish
NB: Sunil is amused becoz then Sunil would be the Don of all HNIs

You need not to open any company. Any retail investor who apply for IPO more than Rs.1 lacs is categorised as HNI and below one lac it is categorised as small investor. In every IPO there is specific quotas for Small Investor, HNI and QIB.

A typical HNI is one who's networth is atleast a million dollars.

These are kind of people who dont really need mutual funds for investment, but can afford to use a personalised portfolio manager. In IPO's, ofcourse an individual who applies for more than 1 lac rupees is categorized under HNI portion.
