Dear Venkat,
I realize you're a new member with stars in your eyes and I don't mean to burst your bubble but if by simply buying stocks with a low PE compared to their industry average could foretell which stocks would make large advances to catch up to the respective indusrtry's average PE, the word millionaire and billionaire would no longer be applicable to a select few. Kakatiya cements may or may not go up, no one can really say for sure. It may be a fundamentally strong security but that dosen't necessarily mean it will rise. You have to consider several other factors. Take for eg Lok Hsg. it has a ridiculously low PE compared to the industry average and its EPS has been steadily rising but its still languishing in the doldrums. Just because its PE is low compared to the industry average doesn't mean its undervalued. There are several other considerations to take into account. If you're interested in FA and value investing in particular you may want to check out the book "Security Analysis" by Graham & Dodd. If you don't want to check it out but are still interested in FA you're best bet is to go with O'Neil's CANSLIM or Greenblatt's magic formula. I have personally read Greenbalts book aka "The Little book that beats the market"(thanks pankaj sir) and it was a gr8 read where Joelblatt puts forth a very convincing investing system. |
