Vin, anyone can correct me if I am off base, but I talk to a lot of people through my blog and different forums in the past.
Quite honestly, I know of no one that has any proven experience in using a robot. It appeals to the get rich with no work state of mind.
dear paul:i 100 % agree, with your above answer,at present with the help of technicals, trading has become 90 % science, but it is still 10 % art ,and here we require ,use of our mind
FIRST 90 % IS USE LESS WITHOUT SECOND 10 % AND HERE THE ROLE OF YOU AND ME COMES !!!!!

Ashwani, that is why I said I would stand corrected if I am wrong, but I know of no one that has ever made consistent profits with a robot.

The one most noticeable setback I have seen with them is they cannot read the interactions of the timeframes. One outstanding example of that was in February when Nifty dipped to 5171. I had circa 5222 on my radar since the peak. Someone with his robot (self-designed) told me the market was headed much lower and he was hanging on.
That sounds good, and the market, at that point, was still forecasted to go lower, but the weekly became OS, and if you entered at that point, you would have suffered a 530-point pullback before you would have been in profit 6 months later.
Eventually, his robot took his trade out around 5600, just 100 points from the peak.

I hear these stories all the time, but after they admit the robots don't work.

dear paul.i am taking the help of three hour time frame in case of nifty,as nifty trades for 6.5 hours
and i take the help of six hour time frame in case of commodity as in india commodity trading is for regular 13.5 hours
suppose the major trend in nifty is down still it helps me to catch more then 100 point correction in nifty
just in last week their was a 180 point correction from 5000 leval to 5180 leval of prime short move correction
three hour time frame gave me clear signal of this correction
where as at end of day it was always a short trend
how can a robet encash this correction

That's the point we are both making. You can use the lower TF's to determine the correction for the larger TF's. All of a sudden the lower TF's looks like they are trending, and then when they are done, it is back in the bigger trend. This is how the entire process works. It is amalgamative. A robot cannot discern the entire process.
