Stereotypes are not hard to disprove. You said, "Always move in a similar direction." How do you explain that from June to November, the GBP/USD had an open to close of +1,032 pips. GBP/JPY had an open to close of -234. They were on divergent paths for 6 months. http://img573.imageshack.us/i/gbpjp

Now, let me give you an absolute. GBP/USD * USD/JPY always equals GBP/JPY.

Also, the USD/JPY and GBP/JPY has "for the most part", moved in similar directions over the years. This is why, over the years, of all the 10 most popular pairs, the GBP/JPY has moved the fastest.

I didn't mean to put you on a spot. Good calls, by the way.
