Default Metastock MACD Exp Advisor and 4X

Hello Everyone-
This is my first post and might seem like a very naive question but I would really appreciate any feedback from everyone's experience. I've traded 4x before with some better than average success. My pitfalls were related to the stops (not having a more sophisticated method of placing them strategically) and not taking profits soon enough (might be based on emotion or getting greedy).

I saw the ad for Metastock on TV and thought I'd order the promo CD to see what it might offer to better my averages with the 4X markets. I was actually overwhelmed with the enoormous amount of info.

Here comes my naive question: When I saw the MACD Expert Advisor buy/sell signs on any given pair of currencies I thought, "There has to be more than this to be successful?" The technical analysis options Metastock has available is huge however I'm too simplistic with attention deficit to evaluate all of them.

Has anyone simply used the MACD stategy to determine the buys and sells with success? Of course the promo CD is a marketing strategy but if the info is accurate it appears you could have some great success if following this MACD religiously.

Thanks a bunch for any education you can share--Jim

LOL MACD is the most lagging indicator (all the indicators are lagging as they follow the market ), i feel trading only with macd is not worthy, tho the best use of macd is to trace out divergences .

you need some other indicators to support your trading decisions.

Btw MT4 has built in MACD expert trader, run the bcak test on any pait of your choice and you will find what i mean.
