Just a general remark - I see some people trading in small forex firms, beware of these!!, they are unregulated in many countries and if they close their shop and go out that's it. It is best to open a Forex Account with a large forex firm ( larger the better , some examples are OANDA , MFGlobal and FXCM, though always good to do your own homework ).

Why cant we
Open an offshore bank account, register ourselves with say Interactive brokers and then stay and india and trade, the money never comes to india hence we are out of the indian jurisdiction.

i have opened an account for forex trading. i have my account here in india with HDFC bank. my bank said to me that he can not transfer funds because the purpose of transfer is trading. he said to me to visit the main branch in state capital for more clarifications.
could anybody tell me about the questions i would be asked at the main branch. and what documentation may be needed. or can it even be done, or it is illegal.
