Does Scalping Require Attention?

#1
Scalping demands a lot more attention from the trader in comparison to other styles such as swing-trading, or trend following.
A typical scalper will open and close tens, and in some cases, more than a hundred positions in an ordinary trading day,
and since none of the positions can be allowed to suffer great losses (so that we can protect the bottom line),
the scalper cannot afford to be careful about some, and negligent about some of his positions. It may appear to*
be a formidable task at first sight, but scalping can be an involving, even fun trading style once the trader is comfortable with his practices and habits Still, it is clear that attentiveness and strong concentration skills are necessary for the successful forex scalper
One does not need to be born equipped with such talents, but practice and commitment to achieve them are indispensable if a trader has any serious intention of becoming a real scalper.

As scalpers make more amount of money during the news release time so it requires some extra attention during the said period. I also have seen some online brokers offering zero spread accounts which are specifically designed to meet the need of scalpers.

All strategy required attention and also concentration to analyze the market based on their system trading. Scalping is a type of trading strategy in the Forex field and for that its obvious that will need attention to control such trading style.

Did you scalp before or are you a beginner? Seems like you have the wrong idea of scalping.

Hundreds of positions? Are you a robot?

I am a scalper and more than ten trades a day will physically affect me. Scalping is NOT FUN.

You don't need strong concentration or attention skills. What you actually need is a great trading methodology because no matter how concentrated or attentive you are, two or three losses in a row will affect you and ruin your whole day. This problem can be solved with a strong trading system.

It requires a serious attention span as well as the ability to stay glued to one screen for an extended period of time. If you are not a full time trader, and do your trading on the side, you must realize that scalping is a time consuming technique that might not be suitable for your schedule.
