how to download historical charts of companies listed in nse

How to download all the historical charts of all the companies listed in nse since it's begining till date?

OK, I'll bite.

When did the NSE begin?

I guess you have two options (going on available data for the ASX in Australia).

Find a data provider that supplies EOD by the day (week, month or year) and do lots of downloads - but you won't have the benefit of companies that have been renamed or had their code changed.

(NOTE. This will probably leave you with lots of data that is no longer relevant because companies have changed or delisted.

Buy a disc with all historical data on it. (Use Google to find them for the NSE - if they exist.)

If you get some information, pls update me too..

Presently I am using FCHARTS software to download the historical data.
I am just looking for other alternative.

How to download 'historical charts' of all the companies listed in NSE?. No idea. However, historical data can be downloaded. There is a separate thread for that. You may read this post:

Price data has to be adjusted for corporate actions, splits, ticker renames, delisting etc. It is possible to maintain a good price database only when such adjustment is done manually.

I backup my price data at the end of the year. For the period 2001 - 2009 I have 4 zipped files, each 6 MB and the data is in FCharts 1.5.x binary format. Please contact me (vsundy at gmail dot com) in case you need those. Needless to mention, you will have to use the data at your risk.
