Sir/Madam
I want to know to know the basic thing about this formula from which I can learn further
The formula states if
If today's close > previous 20 day's highest high Then
20 day's lowest low ( which will form the blue line ) I understood the first part that if todays close is> last 20days high tis part is ok but then it says "then 20 day's lowest low(green line)" why should there be a line of lowest price of last 20 days if there is a breakout of 20 days high what is the use of that low
I know this is very basic question but unless I know this I wont be able proceed forward in stdy of fchart formulae

I sent a request to "Traderji" who has kindly considered my request and allowed me to open the thred for Fchart in software catagory. I have been using Fchart Pro for last six years. In this forum I would be happy to to share my experience with all Fchart users.

In compliement of the above forum I am giving below the formula for "Inside Bar" in Fchart:-

Day traders will look forward for a stock which has made inside trading bar in last trading day to find out next days decissive move. Here is a formula for Inside Bar (((H < H[1], (H = H[1], (H - H[1] < 2)), (OR (L > L[1], L = L[1], (C[1] - C) < 2))))). Put the formula in UDI. When its value is -1.0, its a inside Bar, otherwise its value is always 0. To scan inside bar put formula UDI = -1.0 and LastDayOnly = true and find out which are the stocks have formed inside bar in last trading day.

Cheers

dear himadri
I am new to this forum and i cud see that u hav an answer to nearly all problems with formula.I hav a tricky problem which I want to make an indicator.I hav Fchart pro.

problem:
It is called as safezone indicator
If the trend is up the
for a lookback period (which should be variable for user) add all the downside penetration depths on 22 day EMA and divide by number of penetrations and then multiply by a user variable coefficient
for eg: in last 10 days say prices penetrated below 22 day Ema 4 time and depth below ema was 3,4,2,1 rs then the safezone indicator should give2.5*coefficient if coefficient is 2 then todays value is 5

If we do this indicator continuosly then it give a line .
for down trend it will just change downside penetration to upside penetration of 22 days EMA

variables are the lookback period,no. of days of EMA and the coefficient

I know its a bit of a tall order but i hope u will be able to help me
